RE: PDAnet and new phone/laptop questions

Pdanet is good app, but why bother with it if you have a wifi capability and an Android phone? Just use the foxfi app.

Mapping Program That I Can Post POIs?

Leaving shortly on trip of several months. I would like to find a mapping program that I could post POIs and notes and also be able to print the map.
Any suggestions?

RE: Baffled in App-Land...!

I use Verizon, Droid X phone, and the Asus wifi tablet. When driving and need a hotspot for my tablet - I activate the free Foxfi app on my Droid. Gives me a hotspot for my tablet that uses the data side of my phone.

RE: Does HD Satellite TV require RG6?

RG-6/RG59 are both 72 ohm impedance. RG-6 can be run over longer distances without quite as much signal loss. In a house/RV won't much matter which is used.

RE: Mobile Internet Service

I have Verizon service on my aircard and phone. When driving and need an Internet connection - I use the free Foxfi hotspot app on my smartphone? Works great for my tablet and notebook computer.

Conditions in Branson After Storms?

Planning a week in Branson this May. Can anyone report on conditions in Branson right now? Did the recent storms damage Branson?

Looking for opinions on Demara B+ RV

Shopping for a quality B+ RV. Demara has caught my attention, but can't find anything about them. Have searched this forum. Would appreciate some knowledgeable input.

RE: On The Road Reading

I am planning to look at Amazon, Guttenburg, and several other opportunities to download free books, but at the moment the public libraries are providing me with plenty of titles and many newspapers to read. Of course, they are in the epub format. There are also several apps that will convert almost any format to almost any other format. I do still read paperbacks that I find along the way. It has not been necessary for me to spend even a dime to have all the good reading material I can handle.

On The Road Reading

I recently purchased a tablet computer. One of the main reasons I bought it was to be able read ebooks while traveling. I like to check real books out of the library since they are free. However, you have to be able to return them in a timely manner. Short trips are not a problem, but longer trips present a problem. Checking out an ebook solved the problem. But, my home library did not provide a large enough selection in a timely manner. I discovered that Texas has a program called Texshare. Almost all Tx public libraries as well as many universities belong to this program. You can get a library card from any of them without any cost. While it allows you to check out any of their books I am only interested in ebooks at this time. This will be good for me while RVing as well as any other travels.
Thought other Tx residents would like to know about this program.
