RE: Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

Gasoline prices continue to drift down. Filled up the motor home at Sam's Club for $3.61. Diesel continues to be 50¢ a gallon higher than gasoline.

RE: Can Cats and View co-exist?

We use the shower for the litter box. I found a rubber bathtub plug that fit just right so any cat litter won't go down the drain. During the day the cats usually reside under the couch. When we stop the shower and bath door are propped open for their convenience.

RE: Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

Hurrah! Oil is below $100 a barrel. There is hope for lower fuel costs this summer.
On edit: Fox News just had the price at $96.86 per barrel....:B

RE: I have some good news to share

For the record, I have told both girls not to have more kids than they can afford to get through college.
I'm sure my son, with 3 girls and 2 boys, won't be providing for college. They'll have to work for their tuition.

Don't think my thesis will ever be exhumed. It was a business plan but the business only lasted about 4 years before it was dissolved.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Wednesday started the de-winterizing process. Finished yesterday by checking/topping off the tires. So far only had to get a new starting battery as the trickle charger I plugged in didn't work even though the light indicated that it was working. Bought a new one at Menard's for $20 before taxes. Whoops, forgot to run the furnace. Darn, I'll do that this morning before we leave for camping - rain showers/thunderstorms with a daytime temp of 60°F for the whole weekend.

RE: '99 Ford F 53 V10 straining up hills

Went the Banks route after one year of the stock 275hp V-10. Sure, it was pricey, but we go up the grades a lot better at 4000rpm. Didn't change the gas mileage.

RE: West Wendover Nevada/Utah

We are thinking of staying in West Wendover. There appears to be a casino, Wendover Nugget, that has a campground. RVParkReviews lists it but the reviews do little to shed light as to whether the campground is as it appears to be. I google mapped it and it shows a rather large campground. A call to the casino indicated their CG is only 16 spaces. :h:h:h:h. Anyone pass through there lately that can shed some light on what's going on. We are looking to pass through there in October and would like to take the coach out on the salt flats...:E:E:E,..any help would be appreciated......Dennis
If you look in the lower left hand of the Google Earth screen, there usually is a date of the image. Sometimes the date is from 10 years ago. Things can change in that span of time. Just say'n...:B

RE: Favorite RV park/area between Duluth and Grand Marais MN61?

Yes, Burlington Bay campground still exists. Keep on trying as they have had a history of not returning phone calls. There are a bunch of state parks up the shore. Gooseberry falls is nice. It is on the lake side of highway 61. Don't forget Betty's Pies just north of Two Harbors on the left side going north. The lower parking lot has room for RV's.

Got on RV.net earlier this morning, but had to "give it up" and go through the Woodall's entry. Now Woodall's has been taking too long and I'm getting the "problem loading page" message.....:R

RE: Setting up a Jeep TJ to be towed

That sounds about right for a TJ with parts and labor, but I'd suggest that if you're handy at all try doing it yourself. I've set up two TJs (a '99 Sport and an '04 Rubicon), and they were both very easy to do. The baseplate (Blue Ox) is a $350 item, and 5 years ago I bought a wireless light kit and have never looked back. That was $80, and I'll never have to run wires and seperate bulbs again.
Where did you buy a wireless light kit?

RE: Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

More stations are joining the $3.73 group. The others are at $3.75. Notice that the per barrel price of oil is still around $104.xx.

RE: 2011 Fall trip - Tennessee to New Mexico - Part 1 of 2

Back in June 1981 my scout troop (I was the scoutmaster) visited Philmont ranch for a week of hiking. Getting up to the Tooth of Time trail was via a bunch of switchbacks. We carried 40# back backs. Still have the belt buckle and coffee cup. Great time had by all. Can hardly wait for the last part of your trip.
