RE: New Oxygenics Shower Head

Mine comes out of the wall about 6' up, and the valve is installed there.

RE: New Oxygenics Shower Head

EMD360- I bought one a few years back. I did the bucket test and both were around 1.4-1.5 gallons per minute. Not much difference between the two. We had the same problem you do with the shut off. Seems the one in the handle is made to drip or leak as to prevent a blast of hot water when you turn it on. After about 2 or 3 trips with it, we went back to the OEM shower head. Now it sits in my garage.Agreed.. I did the same test and the Oxygenics actually uses more water than the OEM Itasca head...... At full volume. The nice thing is that we run the Oxy head at or below 50%, and it still has a stronger spray than the OEM on full. This was the 1st year in Q with this head, and there was a marked difference in water savings in the 12 days we were there. Where we are normally ready to reload in 9 days, this time we went 12, and probably could have gone an additional 2 changing nothing. PS- I didn't use the OXY hose and valve. We stayed with the OEM hose and the valve I installed on the other end of the hose next to the wall. It's a nice 90 degree turn with a little handle and easy to adjust with soapy fingers.

RE: How to protect trailer (and us) from lightning?

It's refreshing for a change to not have the armchair physicists claiming that lifting the jacks, pulling the cables, etc., will isolate you, any more than claiming grounded jacks or lightening rods will protect the occupants. N o t h i n g will protect you in an RV from an errant bolt, end of story.

RE: Hunting For RV Spots in Big Sur, CA

Try Big Sur Campground and Cabins. It's been years since we've been there, but they will know what can and can't get on the highway.

RE: Generator grounding, humourous....

So how about if we fill your Silverado bed with dirt and lay an 8' rod in there? Earth is earth.. Does code specify it has to be attached to the planet? :)

RE: Torque App Android

Looks like a sweet app. Hoping it becomes available for iPhone. Right now the closest iPhone app to Torque App appears to be DashCommand for $50. Let us know how you like it.The iPhone app store reviews show a lot of problems. Hopefully the Droid developer was more thorough. :(

RE: Quartzsite Weekend.

---snip--- The mall was nearly empty, Hobby Lobby looked the same. K-Mart didn't have 10 cars in the lot. Bass Pro was closed up.HOLD ON HERE A SEC.....! There's a Hobby Lobby in the mall.....? Great, NOW you tell me. Must be where Pet Adventure was? All my 1S batteries are shot and we had to come all the way back to Palm Springs to hopefully find them. Grrrr.....

RE: boondocking is boondocking

Dry Camping is dry camping, regardless of where it's done: Walmart, Quartzsite, the local CG with no hookups, or "boondocking" (whatever that means).

RE: Q Report

Here's a few pix I shot of the Plomosa area earlier in the week. Might be interesting to do this again on closing day (today). http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r192/SCVJeff/3.jpg height=500 width=500 http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r192/SCVJeff/2.jpg height=500 width=500 http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r192/SCVJeff/4.jpg height=500 width=500 http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r192/SCVJeff/1.jpg height=500 width=500 There are some better 360 pans I need to upload that show the North Plomosa area and a little further N-E better. In years past it's been elbow to elbow.

RE: Storable BBQ??

Everyone here knows what the OP is referring to and that Grill and BBQ are interchangeable for his question. He wants a box that goes outside, makes heat for a STEAK, and can store it. Another vote for the Weber BBQ

RE: Quartzsite AZ to Bakersfield CA

It's no problem all the way through. We have made the run several times between Q and Santa Clarita and would probably do it this year, but will be detouring to Palm Springa area. The only problems you might encounter with traffic is the folks in and out of Big Bear along the back route, but ain't got no snow, so......

RE: Losing tv channels

Responding on an iPhone.... Welcome to San Diego and the inversions. My dad lived in the hills of Fallbrook, and we would watch this happen all the time. The path would go from full quieting on rabbit ears, and fade out to the point that the largest Winegard wedge antenna: 8+ feet long, 4' high with some 50 elements, up on a 40' mast (and on top of the hill) with a deep fringe pre-amp, we would still lose signal: VHF or UHF. That's just the way it is in that area with the hills and the various inversions there. So before you go looking for a problem you may not have, watch it for a few days.

RE: Q Report

I would agree that, at least Plomosa was noticeably down. But in past years, by now that crowds had significantly thinned out in and around the show, and from our observations and talking to vendors, that's not the case this year. Curious..... (edit: spelling)

RE: LED light over door

you will be dong your neighbor a disservice having that light come on and off all night long. bumpy Really?? If it is coming on then someone/something is moving around near the door and I would think that you or your neighbor might want to know about that! Besides, it can be returned to a regular on/off light easily. there have been posts about this type of light being activated by animals, non human, walking by. the last thing I want next to me is a disco strobe all night long. bumpyHe can always turn it off when not needed....

RE: LED light over door

What you want is THIS product. It's motion sensing and comes with 200 Lumen LED. You can also add an amber cover to it. While the bugs are less, an LED absolutely WILL attract bugs, even with an amber lens on it.

RE: 1st time to Quartzsite

We're heading to Arizona desert in March. When I go to the desert it is to get away from crowds, get enough of that in the city everyday. NO THANKS!Good... There are hundreds of thousands of people enjoying themselves here. No room for those who won't. Hershey: You probably saw the Slo-Stick in the "hanger".. Originally that was the plan, but the Quad is a really stable platform that can be reasonably parked at altitude. I have the GoPro set for 1sec stills, so I can move it around and just do a slow rotation. I just need a LOT more practice. We tried a tiny little cam on the Stick last year, and while it did work, there is a lot of vibration to deal with. Was that your glider pix of Q I saw on YouTube awhile back?

RE: Is there a LARGE RV event like Quartzsite on the East Coast

There is nothing else like the "Q". Everybody should go once. I don't know why anyone would go the second time. Many, many, RVing clubs have an annual rally at 'Q'. My 6th year and I love it!EXACTLY ! And the rest of us to to hang with friends.
