RE: OC Beach good for RV day use?

Either HB or further north on PCH to Bolsa Chica. It will cost you $15 to get in and another $15 for the motorhome. Both have fire rings.

RE: I'm tired of these sheets!

We have 3 sets of sheets all made from different materials. The set that doesn't seem to have the problem of ending up on the floor is made of jersey, kind of like what t-shirts are made of. They are also warmer than cotton sheets and don't have the cold spots that cotton does. That might have something to do with it. I think flannel sheets would work the same way. Also, I'm pretty sure the shorter bed has something to do with it, we are both on the taller side and may create the landslide effect when we straighten out our legs.

RE: I'm tired of these sheets!

I kinda have the opposite problem. Somehow my DW is able to push all her covers over to my side. That's not quite how my DW would have described it. Like everything else, it's my fault.

RE: I'm tired of these sheets!

We have a big dog and still have the problem. Sometimes I think she pulls down on the sheets and all so she has something to lay on. In the middle of the night not only do I have to fight with DW for the covers but also the dog.

RE: High winds changing trip plan

Twice this year we delayed our trip a day because of winds. Did we really need to? Don't know but do know that by waiting a day we were able to travel without having to fight the wind.

RE: I-10 arizona/california border gas price

There's a Texaco at Ray Wells Rd. in Ehrenberg. It's usually a couple of cents higher than the Flying J. MUCH easier to get in and out of than the Flyin J or the stations in Q. Much less crowded, generally you can drive right up to the pump.

RE: dead battery ford edge while flat towing

When you go to tow is there any lights on the dash light?

RE: Beagle lovers... Talk to me...

I'm pretty sure DW would pay someone $300 to take our beagle.

RE: Has Anyone Had Experience w/ AAA

It's the little things with AAA that will get you. What they don't tell you is that they will only pay up to 1 hour for a tire swap. That's counting from the time the repairman leaves the shop. Anything over 1 hour you pay. Also, I had 100 mile towing and hand my class C not start 50 miles from home. I thought I would just get it towed home. Once they had it on the trailer I was told that AAA would only cover the first $300 of tow. I ended up having to pay about twice that. One other thing is it doesn't have nationwide coverage. There are places where you would be on your own.

RE: POI for Garmin

I've looked through the poi's a number of times at the Poi Factory and haven't seen any relating to grades. Your best bet is the MOUNTAIN GUIDE The Trailer Life Navigator program will give you the grades along a route. I don't know why you would want a poi for that. Poi's don't show up on the map. You could convert the poi to a .gpx and it would show up on the map.

RE: Dinghy selection

You need to buy a toad that works for YOU. Not everyone wants to drive a SUV, maybe a smaller car would work better for you, we don't know. Unless this vehicle is dedicated to being just a toad you need to decide what makes a good daily driver AND a toad for you. Wranglers make great toads but IMO not very good daily drivers, too uncomfortable.

RE: Dinghy selection

I've had 5 various Jeeps and found them to be less prone to repair than other vehicles I've owned. Think about it, would someone who takes a vehicle into some very remote areas want to take a vehicle prone to break down? I don't think so. My Jeep Wrangler has 50k miles on it and a lot of that was off road. I've had it over 10 years and can't remember the last time I had anything repaired. If you still are afraid of Jeep you may want to look at the Ford Edge, which is my current toad. A very comfortable vehicle and easy to tow.

RE: Death Valley gas prices

I just checked and I guess it's currently $5.87 for regular and over $6.00 for premium. YIKES!!!!!!!

Death Valley gas prices

Can anyone tell me what the current price of gas is at Death Valley?

RE: Solar Panel Location

There isn't any perfect place so just find some place that makes it easy to run the wire and out of the way if you walk on the roof and the A/C isn't casting a shadow.

RE: tow bars

Besides a tow bar you will need a base plate that attaches to the frame of the Cherokee. You will also need wiring to activate the taillights. Can your Cherokee be towed 4 down? Is it a 2wd or 4wd?

RE: New MotorHome Website

Looks nice but I couldn't find the Dinghy Guides. A lot of people use them to determine what vehicles are towable 4 down.
