RE: Programmable thermostat with two A/Cs

IF you have the CCC2 you are all set
If you have the older 5 button CCC 1, then to upgrade to the CCC2 will require BOTH AC control boards replaced as well as buying the watt CCC2 tstat. There is NO aftermarket system that will plug and play for your factory system which should be a Dometic Roof AC system. Now if the furnace is your ONLY programmable item you want to control, you can disconnect the furnace from the AC control system AT the furnace (just 2 wires) and install an aftermarket type programmable tstat that would only control the furnace. I am assuming Newmar still installs Dometic AC units and controls on your 2011. Last, IF you have Dometic then NO OTHER tstat or system can be used on your RV, other than Dometic CCC systems. But as I stated, you CAN use another type just for your furnace. Doug
Thanks, Doug. Yes, I have the five-button CCC1. I may consider your suggestion of a separate t'stat just for the furnace.

RE: Overnight Campground I 65 near Tennessee Border

We've stayed at Northgate a couple of times--very convenient. It should be noted, though, that it doesn't have any bathrooms/showers.

Programmable thermostat with two A/Cs

I'd like to install a programmable thermostat in my 2011 Canyon Star, primarily to be able to have the furnace come on before we get up. I have one furnace, but two roof A/Cs. Is there a programmable thermostat that is capable of handling two A/Cs?

Another vote for Texas T. It is, literally, one minute off I-65. Clean restrooms, all pull-throughs.

I-165 in Mobile, AL

I'll be traveling west on I-10 through Mobile, connecting with US45 northwest through AL and MS. Taking I-165 to connect with I-65 north is considerably shorter than taking I-10 all the way to I-65, but requires 3-4 blocks on city streets. Can anyone tell me if that would be okay, with a 35' MH with toad? I'll be going through just after 9:00am on a weekday. TIA.

Davis Lake NF Campground

Anyone familiar with this campground in northern Miss? We're thinking of staying there for a couple of days to do part of the Natchez Trace. W/E hookups, flush toilets and showers.

RE: Montana Route 2

Hwy 2 is a beautiful way to cross Montana. W've done it with our 40' motorhome. The road was very good. If you need a stopping place around Glasgow on the eastern side, we would recommend the Corp of Engineers campground called Down Stream, at Fort Peck. Here's a link:
Fort Peck, Down Stream Campground, Glasgow, Montana
Thanks for the tip. We may be going that way this Fall.

Natchez Trace

We are considering doing part of the Trace on our return to Michigan, but not sure if we will have time to do the whole thing. For those of you who have traveled it, which was your favorite part--southern third, middle third or northern third--and, if you wish to explain, why?

RE: Want to change florescent ceiling lights to LED

I have three fluorescent fixtures with bad ballasts--they all go out within five minutes. For $21 and free shipping, I bought a five meter LED strip with tape on the backside. I will replace each of the fluorescent tubes in two fixtures with two 18" strips (4/fixture)--the third is in the bathroom, won't fix it now. No more worries with bad ballasts or tubes. Not really concerned with energy usage, just a cheaper solution to bad fixtures.

DISH--Feeding two TVs

I know that to watch different satellite stations on two TVs you need the right dish and a receiver for each TV. But how is the cable run to each receiver? Do you just use a regular coax splitter? a special splitter? something else? Thanks in advance.

RE: Fluorescent Light Dilemma

Are you saying they go out simultaneously? If so it is a circuit problem. If not it is a bulb or ballast problem.
No, they each (independently) go out 5-10 minutes after being switched on. It seems as if they go out after heating up a bit.
