RE: Fifth wheel lube plates

How often do you need to replace this. Ours finally got loose on the pin and would fall off on every unhook. It went a little over 6 years (~65,000 miles) of FT use. Actually,if you had of tapped on the ends of the fingers with a ball peen hammer you could of probably went 100,000 mi or more on that disk. :)

RE: Weber Q120 - Regulator??

The info we got from Weber with a free regulator was that the large tank with hose connection needed to be connected and open for a minute or so prior to lighting some thing to do with the pressure difference from the tank to the small bottle. I don't know if it is true but after using my grill in that manner I have never had another problem. I was told the same thing from Weber and sometime that works and sometimes it doesn't.They didn't offer me any kind of regulator and I would of gladly paid for it.I have had this regulator apart and found no blockage and blown the jet out and cleaned the burner holes, nothing has changed. My next step is to drill out the gas jet to the next bigger size.If that doesn't work then I see a youtube video starring my 15 lb sledge hammer and sending it to Weber.

RE: how to clean weber q

I take my burner out once a year and give it a good cleaning.Have any of you really tried to cook a steak on your Weber Q ?.Mine doesn't burn high enough to get steaks done the way we like them so i'm thinking of changing out the jet to the next size.Anybody else done this ? and yes I have contacted Weber without any help.

RE: Over Height

Interstate hiways arn't usually a problem but occasionally there will be a low overpass. In that case yellow lights will flash well ahead of you to exit and go over it.The problem is with some state hiways where they overlay 1 or 2 inches and don't change the sign on the overpass or bridge.

RE: Taking a Shotgun through Canada

I took a shotgun in 2010 and when asked why I was taking it I told him it was protection from bears. When I had finished he asked is that the only reason and I said yes.He told me if I had said protection from people I couldn't take it.I kept mine in the clothes closet with a trigger lock in place and the shells in my sock drawer.

RE: Banff?

We stayed a few days at Spring Creek campgrounds in Canmore while we visited that area. We went to Canmore to the vet while camped at Banff, it was 17 miles one way, I would not want to be there unless I could not get into the national park campground. As I recall magnusfide was looking for recommendations for a campground NEAR Banff. Your input was no help except to criticsize!

RE: welded or bolts

On my first boxed frame they were welded on by the camper dealer. My current truck has the clamp around the frame brackets but both methods work.Dodge has or had the instructions on how to properly drill the frame when the boxed frame came out.

RE: Day/Night Shades

MTPockets1,You are going to find that most day/night shades are too tight which causes the strings to wear and break.I read the proper adjustment is just tight enough so they stay up but I want mine just a little tighter.Bighorn shades have knobs as N6761U stated with small screws on both bars almost like the one below. Hope this helps Small knob

RE: Day/night Shades

In 7 years, touch wood, I've not had a string break on my D/N shades. The damn little plastic anchors are another story, however... Lyle I had the pleasure of stringing the one in the rear of ours a few weeks ago.It was the biggest shade but once the mechanics were learned it wasn't that hard.I think some shades are put up to work too tight causing some of the failures.

RE: Slide Awnings and Snow

We camped in the snow on one trip but it wasn't by choice. We were on our way back to the factory early last year and my calculations told me we were runnning early so we decided to stay at a campground for a few days.During that time it snowed and since the slides were warmer than the outside air the snow had turned to ice on top of them.If I had toppers it would of made things a lot easier and quicker.

RE: Water heater problems

Your going back to the dealer for the mattress so let them fix the water heater while it's there. You might as well look at everything including cosmetics inside and outside and get them all fixed at once.

RE: Stupid Paint Question

I am especially interested in whether paint offers significantly more protection from drippy trees, both in terms of moisture and tree sap. I'll probably leave a fiver in a coastal RV park all summer, in their long term storage, and move to a spot when I come out for weekends and vacations. But its long-term storage location is surrounded by drippy pine trees. Full paint or not I wouldn't store my rig that is surrounded by drippy pine trees as pine tar is just too hard to remove.Who am I kidding ?,we spend most of our time in our 5th wheel so there is no reason to store it.
