RE: Picture Disk HELP!!!!

Rexabbot: Please reread my post. The words 'for instance' precede my comment about the camera and the computer. There are no words about that being a back up.

RE: Picture Disk HELP!!!!

The key is What program did you use to put the pictures on the disk?
For everyone else looking here, this is why you need to look at the backup before you delete anything that is important. For instance I don't delete the pictures on the camera until I am sure I can view them on the computer.

RE: Storage Solutions

All the above things are what we do and we don't have any rattles. If we have a rattle when we start out, we stop right away and fix it.

RE: What to use for outside storage on a Class c

One of the things we gave up was using a outside grill and instead went with a George Foreman grill.
I was able to put boards across the middle of my inside storage. While this doesn't add space, it does let me get more things in there without everything falling out when I need the bottom item.

RE: Dura Flame Infrared Heaters

If I see one of the 1500/750 at a garage sale I buy it if it is $3 or less. Every one of these works the same way mostly. A friend bought one of those Amish for around $300-$500 (I don't know the exact price) and I got to use it while RVing at his house. What a waste of money. Of course I couldn't tell him that, he loved it. At my price range that would have been at least 100 of mine.

RE: Mossberg says to hold off on laptop purchase

There isn't anything new under the sun. IBM had a voice recognition program at least 10 years ago. My first tough screen was a CDC computer in the 70's. These were betas in need of a market which wasn't ready for them. It wasn't until the smartphones came out that there was some need for a touch screen because of the tiny keyboard. Touch Screens work really good at the retail level for restaurants, point of sales, fast food, and for certain games, etc.
Watching the Apple ads for their Ipad etc, they use what we called 'the sizzle'. It's nice to see and show off, but there isn't much advantage there or at the most, limited usage such as I wrote above.
But when all is said and done, it is the wave of the future.

RE: 2000 Chevy 454 HP / Performance Questions

The 3 inch from Flowmaster worked well for me. the K&N air filter worked well also.
If you use a chip, won't you have to go to the middle grade of gas?

RE: Recommendations for c 23 - 24 foot mpg 12?

If you go with a diesel you will get around 12 or more but with gas don't count on more than 10 mpg with straight freeway driving. I get 10 with our 25 ft (actual length) but with city in, usually 9 mpg per tank full. It's a chevy 8.1.

RE: Windows7 Backup troubles

You need to stay on top of this. First of all, it could be the power supply also as that mimics the same problem as if it doesn't send enough power to the disk drive.
You did what HP support suggested, so now that is documented. Call again and refer to the reference number they gave you. Tell each time, you did what they suggested and the problem still exists, what next. Keep doing this until they give you a RMA to send whatever back, probably the whole computer. Stay calm as you deal with them. And if necessary play dumb, it doesn't hurt.
Have them stay on the line with you and use a little lie. for instance, when he/she told you to unplug and plug back in, tell them it failed again, while they are on the phone with you. Also, do not take any part out unless you feel very comfortable doing it. Your warranty does not require you to do things like that.

RE: How to find free Kindle books

Kinlib and ereaderiq are about 95 percent the same maybe even 100. Actually kinlib has the link to ereaderiq.
The reason I don't use kinlib is that there is not genres for the books, you have to go through the entire list usually about 400 books to find things you like.
eqreaderiq does put them in in about 30 or 40 genres so I don't have to go through Romance, Childrens, Scifi etc books to find things.
I just looked at squiddo and again it doesn't put them in genre order. That makes them not much better than going direct to amazon. (in my opinion).

You can get this is you have a printer or an e-reader that connects up once in a while only. I think you have more than one device and you don't remember what it was.

I don't know how old you are, but really think twice about the bed over the cab. We have a 25 ft unit with the bed down. The knees don't like that climbing up and down in the middle of the night.

RE: Inbedded Modum - How to Find Out?

Since this is a new laptop, it probably does not have a modem in it. Not enough room for one thing plus a modem would have to be special ordered, as off the shelf ones generally do not ship with a modem anymore.
If by new you mean something you bought used and is new to you then it might have one but again I doubt it.
If you wanted to install one, you would need to talk to the folks who's computer it is/was. Dell, Toshiba, etc.

RE: Does a Class C "NEED" a tow vehicle?

I am the same as clouddriver. The size of the class c is of some consideration. Ours is 25 ft actual. There is only a small counter space and of course the table. Not much stuff can be kept out, and that makes it easy to get up and go. We never hook up to the sewer so unhooking is never an issue. After breakfast, it may take us 10 minutes to leave and since we will be coming back, anything outside can stay in place.
What makes sense for us is that all our clothes are always with us, so if it rains, we get a rain coat, or shorts, or warmer clothes. When grocery shopping, we park at the back of the lot and when we are done, everything is put away. Nothing melts on the way home. When we are siteseeing, lunch is never an issue. We can eat in or eat out depending on our feeling. One last thing for some of us older folks, a bathroom is never an issue either. Ours is always clean and no waiting.

Selling your RV online? Read this first.

This is new information regarding online sales. This is for anyone selling high ticket items such as RV's online.
This information is from WindowsSecrets newsletter and starts out this way:
"New wrinkle on an old ploy — the PayPal scam
It all starts when you place an online ad.
It doesn’t really matter what you’re selling, as long as it’s physically large and valuable. It doesn’t matter where you advertise — I’ve seen reports of this ploy being played on Craigslist advertisers and other major online sites."
Here is the entire article.

RE: Verizon MiFi 4510 performance

I have the Samsung that fails often. My second one. I have no idea why some never have the problem others like me always have the problem. Right now I am in a solid 4g area and keep the router right next to me so I can see what is going on. It doesn't search for 3g at all, solid 4g area since last Oct. But it does lose the internet fairly ofter, like right now, I see I have local only so when I post this, it will be a few moments before I get the internet. I do know that there will be new units out this year so I will see what happens.
