Cleaning Diesel Fuel Container

While in New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah this fall, we drove long stretches where I was unsure about availability of ultra-low sulfur diesel (diesel #2), so I carried a five-gallon container of diesel fuel. Now that I'm home, I have emptied the fuel into my truck, but there is a residue and a fuel film remaining in the container. I may not use this container again for a few years. What is the best and most eco-friendly way to clean the container thoroughly so it will be useable, if I ever need it again?
Or, would it be better to dispose of it at a hazardous waste station and get a new container in a few years, if I ever decide I need one? As I recall, I paid only $10 when I purchased it.

Describe Road from Bluff, UT, to Page, AZ

In September, we plan to drive from Bluff, UT, to Wahweap (Page), AZ. Will take Hwys 160 and 98. Is there any mountain driving? Any sharp dropoffs on the edge of the road? Steep grades up or down? Sharp hairpin curves? Any problem with a 34-foot fifth wheel towed by an F-350 long bed, crew cab? Total length when connected is 51 feet.
Is there anything at all about the route and driving conditions to be concerned about?
Thanks in advance for your input. I value what all of you have to say and I appreciate your sharing your experience.

Fall Weather in Vicinity of Niagra Falls?

We are considering a trip to Niagra Falls and the broad region in the fall. I know weather is unpredictable, but in a general overview, what kind of temperatures can we expect in the first half and the last half of September and the first half of October? Let's consider a 300-400 mile radius from Niagra Falls on both the U.S. and Canadian sides.
I realize this is a broad question, but what I'm really looking for is the likelihood of temperatures below roughly 26 degrees Fahrenheit. Is it likely to get below that, especially 300-400 miles north of Niagra Falls? Is it likely to get to 26 or below at Niagra Falls during the period described, especially in the first half of October?
Thanks in advance for your input. I appreciate all of you sharing your experience.
