RE: diesel exhaust fluid?

I bet the cab/chassis trucks will continue the CP3 pump, since they probably won't enter the HP wars with the consumer pickups. I think the CP4 is pretty much mandatory if they decide to up the HP to match the GM & Ford offerings. OTOH, they may change the cab/chassis pump too in order to simplify the supply and manufacturing lines. PS - Anyone notice that MDTs still typically only offer 200 HP standard in their diesels? Sure, some will have options for more, up to 300 typically. Ford even offers a 340 HP Cummins 6.7L in the F650, but will only allow it to be purchased for RVs and Emergency Vehicles. This tells me 340HP is too much for the duty-cycles expected in other commercial vehicles. FWIW the F-series Cummins 6.7L also uses DEF. Also noteworthy is the absence of the Ford 6.7L from the MDT F-series line-up, even though the V10 is now offered. In Poker we call that a tell :W :B Makes you ask why Ford won't run their own engine in the MDT 650-750 class trucks now doesn't it. Don

RE: diesel exhaust fluid?

I wounder what pump the 4500/5500 Rams are running? I'm sure it's the same pump. Rick you will be able to order the 2013 2500/3500 with the DEF after Nov of this year, or that's what I'm hearing. Don From NewsW LINK "This could be the start of a new era of small diesels here. Is America ready for buying what they need, not what looks biggest on paper?" Yep the my wanker is bigger then yours has cost us MPG and jobs.

RE: Killer Dowel Pin in 5.9 12v

Just Me: could you tell me were you heard such a thing? I have worked in the manufacturing all my life and have to say that I have seen some dumb things go on but never that bad. Cummins is under contract with Chrysler to supply us with these engines. Part of their contract states that they will reimburse Chrysler for any warranty cost and recalls resulting form their engines. Do you think Cummins would really let those parts sit around if they knew they where bad? No, when they became aware of it this and they came up with a revised part and or machining process those parts would have be quarantined then shipped back to the casting vendor to be remelted and recast. Also no one changes their part numbers they add a revision letter to the end of the part number and this revision letter is added to the new parts. Don

RE: Question for 2011 Dodge 6.7L owners

There is or so I'm been told a change in the sound engine when it goes into regen and you will know when it happens. Form what Cummins told me the engine will only regen when needed, if you run it a little hard on the highway, towing, or pulling grades even empty the engine will not regen very often, if at all. This came from a QC engineer at Cummins so take it for what it's worth. As far as the t-stat stay with the 195* Don

RE: Ford F-150 eco-boost MPG

As I said the Eco Boost has it's good points. I'm just not going to spend that much for a half ton when I can get a nice 250/2500 with a proven power train for the same money. But that's just me. The Beer thing goes double here. Don

RE: Ford owns it's logo again!

Wonder how much you can borrow on the Ford name? :h It was more then just their name. Ford put up its logo, headquarters, factories and other assets to qualify for $23.5 billion in loans that helped it survive the recession without needing a government bailout like General Motors and Chrysler.

RE: Limp Mode on LMM Duramax

OK today seems to be a learning day for ole DodgeBoy :S . Seems you can go into limp without a CEL. Not sure how as the posts I read all had things wrong that should have tripped the CEL. Four I'm almost sure should have tripped the CEL they were a egr issue, and two electronic throttle control issues. But who knows, anyway looks like you DON'T QUESTION THE INTERNET ENGINEER NEWSW :B Go on News tell us you told us so :W Don

RE: Ford F-150 eco-boost MPG

Dude you do know what the EPA is right? It this govt organization that tests cars and reports on their mileage. BTW here is what the EPA said about the big 3 15 City/21 Hwy Ford 3.5L V6 15 City/21 Hwy Chevy 5.3L V8 13 City/19 Hwy Ram 5.7L V8 But on another note towing a camper is all about 3 things: HP 411 @ 5500rpm Ford F-150 6.2L V8 390 @ 5500rpm Ram 1500 and 2500 5.7L V8 365 @ 5000rpm Ford F-150 3.5L Ecoboost V6 315 @ 5200rpm Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L V8 TQ 434 @ 4500rpm Ford F-150 6.2L V8 420 @ 2500rpm Ford F-150 3.5L V6 407 @ 4000rpm Ram 1500 and 2500 5.7L V8 335 @ 4000RPM Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L V8 Payload Here is the payload sticker off my F-150 Lariat 4x4 EB HD SuperCrew 6.5ft Bed truck http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd309/joeycleland/HDF150.jpg Here is the payload info from chevy's website for the Silverado 1500 LTZ Crew Cab 4x4 5.5ft bed (they dont offer the 6.5ft bed) http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd309/joeycleland/chevy1500.jpg And lastly here is the payload from Ram's website for the Ram 2500 gas and diesel Crew cab 6.5 bed Laramie 4x4 (the 1500 payload numbers were too embarrassing to post) http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd309/joeycleland/Ram2500Gasser.jpg http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd309/joeycleland/Ram2500DieselPayload.jpg The F-150 is the best 1/2 ton (and in Rams case the best 3/4 ton!) on the market at doing what trucks are supposed to do. The Defense Rests -SeaRayder Dude if you're going to be a lawyer you better do your research. You left out GM's 6.2 that has been in Escalades and Denali's since 07 AND Silverado 1500's since 2009. It's 403 hp with 417 lbs. of torque. And you on't have to get an LTZ to get it. Not swayed either way by internet hype, I don't care what people buy. But you can't compare the other 2 manufacturers top of the line motyors and throw in Chevy's basic motor. I'm sure that was an innocent oversight. Right?:R Your right, sorry bout that, updated the original post with the 6.2 specs. So does this make you a DA....stupid...and or an idiot? Don

RE: Ford F-150 eco-boost MPG

OK FordLover so much for not making personal attacks right? Name calling when behind a computer or phone makes you a real tough guy doesn't it. Yes when I typed in F-150 EcoBoost Fuel mileage I came up with the link I posted. Yes I did not catch that the fuel mileage was for the 3.7 not 3.5. For that I take full responsibility should have noticed it, in my defense I ASSUMED that by putting in ECO Boost that is what Ford would show me, My Bad. BTW the FORD posted fuel mileage for the EcoBoost is 4x2 16 city / 22 hwy 3.5L V6 EcoBoost® so I missed it by one freaking MPG!!! CLICKY CLICKY But to call me Dumb*** or Stupid really grow up for caring out load. And you will never have to save any of my posts as I stand by everything I post and if I'm wrong I'm MAN ENOUGH to admit it! So you know I was at a Doctors appointment maybe I will need to make up for my eye doctor. Don I don't mind a few jabs back and forth but if you can't keep it civil then maybe you should look into a support group for internet tough guys and get in touch with your inner RamLover. I suspect you surf the net looking for Ram Pics and photo shoping yourself in them don't you. Come on let it out you know you want to....it'll be all right.

RE: Ford F-150 eco-boost MPG

DUDE the man asked for a link from FORD showing the 23 MPG rating for a EcoBoost and I gave it to him. Sorry Ford stuck their foot in their mouth and now have to do damage control but, FACTS are FACTS if you put it on your web site then you had better stand by it. Dodge rated the new Dart for something like 33 MPG when the started their add campaign but now rate it at 29 MPG and have changed the web site. To bad Ford can't do that, even though they know the truck won't make that mileage. Bottom line to ues a line from FordLover "When you make wild accusations" you might get called on it. And BTW Ram and GM are not posting claims of the "best in class MPG" that would be Ford I also gave Ford their due for BIC towing and payload. Don

RE: Ford F-150 eco-boost MPG

Oh FrodLover I'm still waiting.....did you read the Ford link with that 23 MPG Ford "promised " yet? or will you just ignore this post? Come on did you even open the link and look at it? Here let me make it easy for you and the rest form Ford's link "Flexible Fuel 3.7-Liter, V6, Ti-VCT 24-Valve, DOHC, SEFI Engine; Front Mounted With Horsepower Of 302@6500, Torque Of 278@4000, Alloy Block and Alloy Cylinder Heads; Runs On Ethanol/Gas Mixture With Up To 85 Percent Ethanol (Primary Fuel Economy With 100% Gasoline Is 17-City, 23-Highway and 19-Combined; Secondary Fuel Economy With 85% Ethanol Is 12-City, 17-Highway and 14-Combined) (Standard)" Now that does say 23 highway right and it does say 3.7 liter V-6 right? Or do I need to get a new pair of glasses, because one of use does!

RE: Ford F-150 eco-boost MPG

Hwy MPG: 19.5 No best in class here and a far cry from Fords 23 MPG they claim. City MPG: 16 see above I'm BEGGING!!! PLEASE, I'm BEGGING you to find a Ford link that states the Ecoboost is rated or expected or promised to get 23MPG highway. I have a feeling I will be waiting a long time...or will you just ignore this post? When you make wild acusations purely out of hatred for a particular company, I'd suggest at least getting your facts straight. No need to be a hater, the facts as posted. I'm not attacking you so please do the same. I'm not a huge fan of past Chrysler products, but I am wildly impressed by what they are doing with the newest products. And that would be why we were number three. Well from your link it says "Ford F-150 SuperCrew using just three tanks of gas. ..... CleanMPG: It also delivers an unsurpassed 22 mpg fuel economy rating on the highway." So it looks like Ford derated it by one mile per gallon. But I will find it, this was most likely the 2010....nope here you go Ford's own web site LMAO CLICKY CLICKY whats that I hear????? BTW it only beat the Ram with a V-8 Hemi by one MPG???? let me fix that 1 mpg city and combined but 3 on the highway my apologies FordLover. But it does out run it barely in the 1/4 mile so if you want a fully stock truck that can win on the drag strip buy the Ford...but I beat that will go away when the 2013 Ram 1500 comes out, best in class MPG and a EcoDuster. :W Don

RE: Limp Mode on LMM Duramax

News I'm at a loss were you come up with what you have posted but it is total BS. The only time your vehicle will go into "Limp Mode" is when a code is triggered and your "Check Eng" light comes on. If your vehicle has a message center you will get other info as to what to do. In my DD Volvo S-80 the dash lights up like a frigging Christmas tree. The "Service Soon", "Check Eng" lights come on. The "See Massage Center" light comes on and it reads one of three things, "Service Vehicle Soon", "Stop vehicle as soon as safe" or the dreaded "STOP VEHICLE NOW" just like that all caps! No vehicle I know of will do a "silent limp mode" if you can disprove me please post a link to a site that backs up what you are saying. I'm always open to learning something new. Don
