RE: Triple E GT - Radio question!

Hi,
My radio is connected to my house battery bank. It turns off when I used the disconnect switch in the RV.
Done that when going away from the motor home.
But of course that also turn everything else off, like the fridge, heater, etc.

RE: Triple E GT - Radio question!

This is a known issue at EEE/LTV with these radios/back-up camera/GPS/DVD player/etc. I had the same problem with my Libero. It was like it was haunted!! I passed by the factory for another little tweak and they put in a separate switch on the dash.
Call the factory (talk to Brad or Darrell) and if your dealer can't fix it, I assume that they can send you the switch and they would cover installation costs.
I sure feel haunted as well....it's a pain in the neck.
We found the wiring diagram on the internet, removed the engine cover thinking to put a switch in, but it scared the daylights out of me looking at all the wires. Decided not to touch any of them.
I'm waiting for an email from Triple E.

Triple E GT - Radio question!

We are traveling in a new Triple E GT 27S
Emailed the manufacturer but have not had a reply (yet).
When we arrive at a destination and turn the engine off the radio (and GPS) stays on!
All we can do is turn it off manually but after 10 minutes, while we are parked, the radio turns on by itself.
This means that if we we are not in the motor home the radio will stay on and drain the battery......
Checked the radio/GPS manual but can't find anything related to this issue.
Anybody has any ideas?

RE: To Tow or Not to Tow

What we have done in the past is pull our motorcycle trailer with the bike.

RE: Looking for RV Overnight Parking spot in Creston BC

Things can change in two years.
And maybe there was a reason they did not want you there?

RE: Anyone pulling a 4 door Jeep?

I was told the only reason to have brakes is because if one needs to step on the brakes real hard the hitch might bend.
But there are hitches with shock absorbers available.
I am not sure what to do because the brake system is going to put the budget in the dumps.
Might just pull my motorcycle trailer with the bike in it.
I have not been able to find out exactly what the law is about this issue in British Columbia or de rest of Canada......phoned several "experts" but the answers are wishy washy.
The Jeep is around 4000lbs.

Anyone pulling a 4 door Jeep?

Should there be brakes put on a Jeep being pulled behind a FordV10 Triple E Motorhome?

RE: Ford vs Chevy

We own a Ford (Triple E motorhome), the fuel use we are getting is 1 liter for every 5 km.
(We'r in Canada: Metric) Not sure how that converts to miles/gallons.

RE: Saskatchewan Parks: How Busy?

Last year when traveling through there I did not even bother looking for a park.
We stopped overnight at Walmarts, truck stops and large grocery stores.

RE: Costco in Kamloops--40 footer OK?

And there's a Walmart in Merritt which is not as noisy as the truck stop.
Both are in the same spot north of town.

RE: British Columbia tolls

Several "interior" ferries have been discontinued in the last couple of years because people did not want to pay a small fee.
Anyhow, people you just need to obey the Canadian law when you come into Canada.
Canadians are expected to obey US laws when going south.
Live with it, or don't come here.
BC is still one of the best places for vacation. Get off the main highways and follow some secondary roads where you can boon dock as much as you want.
I have spend two weeks boon docking west of Quesnel and south of Vanderhoof.
Great country!!~ (And no ferries, lol)

RE: British Columbia tolls

The point is that EVERYBODY using this bridge NEEDS to pay.
It's very simple. Makes no difference if you are from the USA or not.
Use it, pay for it. Don't like? Find another route.
As far as I know EVERYBODY pays for the ferries.
Why should it be different for a toll bridge?

RE: Boondocking in Canada

I plan to travel to Alaska in April, have always preferred to camp at Provencial Parks, but understand they do not open until May? All the "official" tourist publications I read say boondocking is not allowed in BC, Alberta or Yukon. So what is the real story? Are parks open, is boondocking allowed, if so where? Thanks for the advice and help!
No boondocking allowed in BC???
That's a new one to me, because we do it all the time.
(We live in central BC)
Shows again: Don't believe everything you read!
Campsite owners probably advertise in that "official" tourist publication! LOL.

RE: Documentation fees

The problem is that they quote you a price plus taxes.
Once you get in the bus. manager's office to pay for it, they add the doc fees.
Tell them to take it off the bill or you walk out and buy elsewhere.
It works 95% of the time.

Documentation fees

I have seen a lot of different amounts being charged as "documentation fees" on new and used vehicles. Anywhere between 100,00 up to 700,00 dollars per vehicle.
My last couple of purchases I refused to pay these fees.
I bought a new Dodge 1 ton, a new Jeep Unlimited, a Triple E motorhome all three bought without paying the "fees", which are according to me just another way to get an extra dollar out of the purchaser.
One dealer told me it's government requirement, lol. Well, it sure as heck is not. At least not in Canada.
Yesterday I wanted to buy a utility trailer at a local RV dealer and they tried to add 95 dollars as documentation fee. I told them I'm not paying it. They refused to take it off the bill and I walked out. I drove to the competition and bought the same trailer for 150 dollars less and they didn't even put any fees on the bill.
Any thoughts?

RE: WW-II Canadian PoW Camps to be Historic Event

For anyone interested in this subject, Canada has officially approved a historic event. The location of the plaque and date of unveiling is still to be decided. On the list for possible locations is Neys Provincial Park on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Great RVing location.
WW-II PoW Camps in Canada - New Historic Event.
Anyone wishing updated information is ask to contact the writer.

RE: British Columbia fuel prices

Macktee I would have to agree with the quote in your signature line.
Tell me where in Alberta is there a problem finding diesel, your kidding right?
Matt
Matt, Ilive in Sylvan Lake but work all over the province, and everyone is complaining about no diesel. We also have people in NE BC and Sask. It is a problem in many places there too. It seams that 1 of the main refineries for diesel is down for work and the other has had a problem of some sort. There are a large number of fuel stops that have not had diesel for a while. Macktee
No problem getting diesel in BC.
This has been blown right out of proportion!
