RE: running off a 20 amp circuit at my house

Shouldn't be any problem. My EMS shows an 11 to 12 amp draw when one a/c (13.5) is running. The only problem you may run into is even though the circuit is rated for 20 amps the outlet itself may only be rated for 15 amps.

RE: Big South Fork & Pickett State Park, TN

Bandy Creek is a very nice campground. All sites have W/E and four have 50 amp. The area is very popular with hikers and horse owners. No problems getting there but it would be best to approach from the west from Jamestown. If you come in from the east you have to go down into the river gorge and back out again. This is steep with tight switchbacks. The river itself is beautiful with many hiking opportunities and is about a mile or so from the campground. Pickett SP is also nice with hiking. The campground is older and most of the sites are small. It would be better to stay at Bandy Creek and take a day trip to Pickett. There are lots of trails with caves and arches to see.

RE: Apple Mac Flashback Virus/Worm?

Disable Java (not javascript) in your browsers. It's a plugin in Firefox and a preference setting in Safari. Run Software Update as Apple has issued updates to take care of the problem and remove the trojan if it is present.

RE: tow bar lenghth

Thanks for the info OLDF**T Please clarify the won't be safe as to what my happen ???? Worse case your hitch breaks and you lose the toad destroying it, damaging your coach, and perhaps injuring someone else. The hitch on your Hurricane is bolted to frame rail extensions which are in turn welded onto the ends of the existing coach frame rails. Not the strongest setup. If you overstress things they will break sooner or later.

RE: Is awning repair tape worth the cost and effort?

I used eternabond tape on mine as a temporary fix. That stuff sticks to anything.

RE: Calculating Vehicle Weight

The other question is what are you going to tow the Explorer with? No problem with a DP but may be marginal with a gas rig and 5,000 lb hitch.

RE: tow bar lenghth

Dodge Dakota 04 4x4 the hurricane is a 97 460 ford THANKS 34 ft This is for short trips ..longest I think is 300 mi.. Well then it depends on how much your Dakota weighs. I'm guessing that your 34' Hurricane has a gross vehicle weight of 20,500 and a gross combined weight of 26,000. The difference between the two gives you a theoretical towing capacity of 5,500 lbs but that will be limited by your hitch which is probably rated for 5,000 lbs max. Your coach may be able to tow more than 5,000 lbs but it won't be safe.

RE: tow bar lenghth

It would also help to know the year and model of your Hurricane and what type of dodge 4x4 you intend to tow. A Dodge 4x4 truck (even a Dakota) might be too much for a gas rig to tow. As far as I know no Hurricane has more than a 5000 lb hitch/tow rating.

RE: rv roadside assistance --coachnet or good sam RSA

I just joined CoachNet. After waiting four weeks and hearing nothing I was just going to call them when an envelope arrived. All it contained was a lame looking membership card and nothing else. No welcome to Coachnet letter. No list of coverages. I am assuming this has to do with the NMC takeover. I am hoping that the road service still remains as good as all you folks say it is. Time will tell.1st, NMC did not "takeover" as you said. NMC has owned and operated Coach Net for almost 12 years now. All that happened in the last 18 months is that Coach Net moved their call center from Lake Havasu to the Dallas area. You should receive a packet with all the information you expect, within 30-60 days of the time you received your "temporary" card. Yes, the road service is still as good as it ever was. We did use it after the move and had no problem or complaint. Thanks for the correction. I just assumed that when the website changed to nmc.com that things had changed. My bad.

West Yellowstone North To I90 With Toad?

Can anyone comment which is the better route from West Yellowstone North to I90 with a MH and toad. Rt 191 north out of W. Yellowstone to Bozeman or through the park and out the north entrance on rt 89 to Livingston?

You can fill your holding tank at the dump as you enter. I would rather empty my holding tank at the dump. Just kidding.:D:E

RE: wall outlet>>>> HELP!!!!!

THESE OUTLETS if you have them are the ones that should be replaced. Half of mine showed signs of overheating when I replaced them with standard outlets.

RE: How much Oil??

I have a onan marquis 5000. Gonna change the oil in it. How much oil does it hold? Something tell me 3 1/2 quarts. Am I right? Thanks 5.5 Onan takes 2qts. The correct answer. When refilling you have to dribble it in slowly to get an accurate fill.
