RE: Door panel Removal 2500HD

AkJason is pretty close. I did my '09 last weekend, I had 5 screw 1 behind door release, 2 under top grap trim, and 2 behind handle. Everything else is trim clips, start from the bottom and work up. If you found a video you should be all set release cable requires a little patients, roate panel so it's upside down.
IMHO - Haynes book is worth it for this and other projects.
Dadoffourgirls - DW got mine as a gift from amazon.

RE: Bar Harbor Maine - smugglers Den

RV Park Reviews
Check out this site for other opinions. I'll second Bar Harbor CG as well, depending on what month you go and what day of the week you arrive you might be ok. They have a few sites up front that are usually the last to go, I've seen folks park there for 1-2 nights and then grab a better site for the rest of the week when one opens up.
Also, heard good thinks about the KOA, never been though.

RE: Hitch Recommendations

Very happy with our Reese 16k with kwik slide, there is a power option if you want to spend the money. How much you use the slider is going to depend on the curve of your nose cap.

RE: Engine Hoist to remove hitch

I hang it from the pin in the warm weather. Fortuanately my Reese comes apart and I store it in the shed via wheel barrel for the winter.
As for the weight 300# is nothing, when you consider normally the pin box has 10k# worth of strain when driving down the road towing your trailer.

RE: Emergency Tow truck options with 5th wheel

We use CAA (AAA). They have an RV plan. Only had to use it once, but everything worked ot well. When our previous truck broke down on the bridge at a Canada US border crossing we had to get a local tow truck operator to tow the truck on a flatbed, and a second truck for the fiver. I paid up front on my credit card (around $300)and submitted the reciept to CAA. Got a full refund for my towing costs no problem.
I don't think that AAA does that here in the USA.
Some AAA in the USA do have RV plans. However, others here have mentioned that all AAA are not created equally. From what I understand if the AAA where you breakdown does not provide RV coverage they don't have to honor the plan from your home AAA franchise.

RE: Lubricating slide mechanism

Dry lube only as other have mentioned Clicky, this is one of several options out there. I do our's every few months.
Don't use tradtional grease. Buddy of mind did that and after his next trip he spent an afternoon removing the grease because it was full of dirt that was reaking havock on the gear drive.

RE: 5th Wheel bike rack

Has anyone tried an adapter like this one....
http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/rv-4-bumper-adapter/17221#reviewshttp://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/rv-4-bumper-adapter/17221#reviews
If you moved the spare tire to bed of the TW; it should not add any stress 2 bikes with rack should wieght about the same as the spare.

RE: 5th wheel hitch installation

It can be DIY if you have the tools and knowledge. If you are buying a new or new to you 5th wheel from a dealer try to negotiate as part of deal. When we bought ours dealer only charged for price of hitch, which was about 10% above best website price i could find.

RE: How long for ordered trucks to be delivered? PIC ADDED

Agree with RicJ; pressure is key! Keeping calling dealer and if neccesary the factory. They will ship it just to stop hearing from you.
If you really want it; get a quote from a local transport guy an threaten to get it yourself. Only risk here is they call your bluff, more likely is they ship immediately to keep from losing dealer fees.

RE: How do you fly your flags?

Might I add to the OP's question without the intent of high jacking the thread, what is the protocol regarding relative flag size and position if displaying for example the Canadian flag and U.S. flag while visiting a U.S. RV park?
Dave
Dave,
While in country US flag should be either highest of all flags displayed or the farthest left as seen by the viewer (in your case from road).

RE: Black tank cleaning

Dean,
It does sound like your dumping too early. Next time your ready to leave dump a bag of ice do the toilet. Assuming its not so hot the ice melts immediately the slooshing should break some of it up. Add lots of water upon arrival at next site and like other said I usually don't dump till about 3/4 full.

RE: First TT

Agree with above buy a sewer hose and go camping close to home with a notepad. State and federal parks are still great in a TT just have your own bathroom. From a toolbox perpective pay attention at PDI and read thru manuals, make sure you have what you need to manually operate and basic fixes especially slides. At least around here most NPs don't have cell service so you at least need to be able to break camp and drive away.
