Arctic Fox Dome In Cabover

I was wondering if anyone has changed the dome skylight in the cabover to an openable one. My camper is a 2003 1150 and is not openable. Unfortunately it is not a standard size and when I had my Lance I loved the openable hatch for air in the evenings. Not sure if I could frame a smaller opening and put in a fantastic fan as that was my first thought but would be a lot of patching.

RE: Remove sensar antenna

Or the Dish Tailgator is also a great option and you get HD channels. Not sure if you have Dish or Direct Tv.

RE: Which roof air conditioner is best for Truck Camper?

I have been watching this thread with intrest as I need to change my A/C for a low profile to be able to get it under it's storage roof without hitting it. I have an Arctic Fox 1150 and always thought to stay with the 13,500 but after reading thru this thread I was wondering if the Polar Cub would work as well. We spend a lot of time in the California Delta and many 90 to 100 degree days so keeping it cool is a priority. Thanks for any insight.

RE: LED Marker Lights

Yes thank you for all the suggestions now time to order them up! Have any of you also changed out the brake/turn signals with LED as well? That one with the reverse light looks a little more difficult.

LED Marker Lights

I have a 2003 Arctic Fox 1150 and I want to change all of the marker lamps over to LED. Can someone point me to the correct light to use as there are so many on the market and I know there has been successful installs done by members of the forum. Thanks for your help.

RE: sumo springs vs air bags

When they built mine they didn't touch the main springs just built a new overload pack. The reason I like this as it doesn't raise the unloaded ride height of the truck and it doesn't change the empty ride. Supersprings will raise the truck about an 1-1/2" when unloaded. I have had all of the add-ons from air bags and Timbrens and I also tried the Roadmaster Active Suspension. I like the spring pack out of all of them. Looking to possibly add my air bags back on just for some side to side leveling.

RE: sumo springs vs air bags

I had mine done at a sping shop in Vacaville and he has done quite a few of them and his work was very good. I will look it up and post his info for you.

RE: Does your furry friend sleep in your bed?

Our King Charles "Lizzy" sleeps with our son only due to the fact that she snores so loud that she keeps me awake and somehow he doesn't hear her, to sleep that hard must be nice. But every morning around 5:00 am she will leave his room and come join us until I get up at 6:00. She will sleep with us in the camper but most of the time I have the fan on to drown her out. :)

RE: Mounting motorcycle wheel chock

Cycle Gear has one that you roll the front wheel into and it doesn't require to be bolted down. I use it in our trailer and use a strap to secure it and then tie the bike down and have been very happy with it. The nice thing is once you get to your spot you can easily remove it from the trailer and use it outside.

RE: Seeking recommendations for an air compressor...

They are not $60.00 but I wouldn't trade it for another compressor. I run an Extreme Aire from Extreme Outback Products. I have the Magnum that is a 1-1/2 hp tied to a 4 gal. tank and lines run to the front and rear of the truck. I can run my IR 1/2" air gun without any issues and fill as many tires as needed with it being 100% duty cycle. Extreme Outback Products
Like I said I know this isn't for everyone but wanted people to know about them.

I always travel with mine on LP with no problems. I have tried the 12 volt option but has never worked out well for me.

RE: Trip to Baja Thanksgiving 2011

We go through Mexacali and straight down to San Felipe and never have had a problem, and the people that we travel with have been going for 40 years and have had minimal problems. I know it's out there but mostly in Tijuana and the Arizona side. We travel in a group and never at night and once we are there it is so worth the trip hopefully we travel for years to come.

RE: Trip to Baja Thanksgiving 2011

I was pleased with the miles per gallon this trip also as we didn't have much wind so that helped a bunch.
The outdoor fire pit and grill is fun we cook most everything out there for breakfast and some dinners. Can't wait for next year!

Trip to Baja Thanksgiving 2011

We did our annual trip to Mexico for Thanksgiving and it was a fantastic trip. Traveled a total of 1,700 miles and averaged 11 miles a gallon for the trip. We are 40 miles South of San Felipe here are some photos.
