RE: Toy Haulers: I'm tired of tires

Hill climb. It was icy as hell. Half way up I knew it was do or die, and by that time it was too late to change my mind. Still think yours is scarier though.
What kind of tires you running on that sled? You do know that some are better than others for icy conditions, don't you???
I miss having a sled and pics like that make me miss it more. Oh well, still no time in the good snow season.

RE: ATV Rack

How does it mount to the truck? Does it bolt through the bed to the frame?

RE: 3/4 ton owners...

last summer i bought a 2010 f250 crew cab. im trying to justify buying a raptor 3712 (dry weight 12,500) maybe ill upgrade my tires. im leaning towards the 3210 cyclone (dry weight 10,900) to be more in line and hopefully pullng a 33 ft trailer the po po will leave me alone.
We tow a 302 Fuzion (similar size and weight to the Cyclone) with a '08 F250. It is enough truck but just enough. Stops good and pulls extremely well on good roads with no or little wind. Never had a white knuckle situation because of the rig. Just have to pay attention to conditions and drive accordingly.
Having said that my next rig will be a dually to get the extra stability. Going to a tonner single rear wheel brings almost nothing to the party in my opinion. The limiting factor is still the tires.

RE: Those with Fuzion's power ramp door...

Our '09 320TE came with the power ramp door. We took the power lift off for 2 reasons. The mechanism took up too much space in the garage and it was too slow. I could drink one beer and have to get another by the time the door opened or closed. I don't remember how may springs ours has, but it does have the zerks on the hinges.

RE: New Fuzion 302

Would any 302 owners be able to help me with the location of the water pump? The unit has been winterized when I bought it so I have not had the water system running. Thanks for the help.
If you look in the storage compartment you will see a partition wall on the drivers side of the trailer. The pump is behind the partition. You have to remove 3-4 screws to get at the pump.
On our '09 302 the water heater is where ksss said the pump is. Our pump is under the pantry to the right of the fridge. Two screws hold the wood panel that covers it.

RE: The BEST grill add-on for your TH

baby Q 200 from weber, you'll never cook on anything else again
full size Q for us, fits 3 tri tip no problem. Hot wired for 5 gallon tank with adjustable regulator so I can sear a steak or turn it down and cook a roast.
Where did you get the adjustable regulator?

RE: What's your weight? help please

I tow a 34' Fuzion 302 with a F250 with a V10 gasser. The hauler is at the limits of the 3/4 ton in my opinion. The biggest thing you need to watch out for is the weight on the rear tires. The gasser should handle it OK. I tow in mountains and wind and always get there, just not quite as fast as I would with a smoker.

RE: Drum roll please...and the loser is...

Wow, just wow. I came across this topic a few days ago and read the high lights. I figured that we would here any day that The Ford rep for Ric's area and Ford would come to their senses and do the right thing. Since insurance will pay we don't have to???? WOW! Just gives you the warm fuzzies doesn't it?

RE: Fuzion owners

It is not water tight and will leak down to the wood. Just mop with a good cleaner.
Mav
I agree. There is no water seal around tie downs and the tread plate on the edges. I read where there is one hauler that it is OK to pressure wash inside, but don't remember which one it is>

RE: Ford V-10 Advice Requested

I tow a Fuzion 302 with a '08 F250 with a V10 and 4.30 gears. Our elevation starts at 3000' and we regularly get up over 7k. With the wind and mountains the V10 is just adequate. You should have no problem.
The weight we handle is also on the edge of the 250's ability, but if you pay attention it works. Never had a scary moment because of the truck.
Mileage is from 5 mpg bucking wind to 8.5 on flat runs with no wind. 11-13 running solo.

RE: Well, I amshamed to admit it

I always do a pull test after I hitch, even though the Curt 20k tells you when it is locked, I still wont trust it. :)
Sorry to hear about your truck.
Mav
Yep. Same hitch and procedure here. I also try to do the hookup by myself. When someone asks if they can help, I say "yes leave me alone". Too easy to forget something with more people involved.
Sorry to hear about your mishap, but it sounds like you dealt with it better than I would have.

RE: In the market for new hauler

We have the Fuzion 302 that as Fordsd said meets most of your needs. We have used it for 2 years and are very happy with it.
Last summer we looked at a Cyclone that was similar in size and layout. I don't remember the model number. The bedroom slide in it contained the closet so that the bed was not in the slide. As you pointed out the bed should be warmer that way, but you loose the window by the bed. I think that would be claustrophobic for me, and you don't have the window right by the bed for fresh air when needed.
