RE: Honeymoon location ideas?

Willow Tree How about a lake front site with your own private hot tub? Click the link. We have not stayed there yet but have met them at an RV Show and the place sounds great.

RE: north pole cg or lake placid koa

We stayed at North Pole about four years ago. Very well kept campground and the staff were very friendly. The main road divides the campground. The main section is on the river side. All the campsites were back-in in that section. On the other side of the road are more sites, some where pull through and very spacious. When we go back we will probably stay in that section. Behind this section is their 1000 acres hiking area. We loved walking through the woods in this section with our dogs. Their gift shop had some really cool items. Joyce in NY pretty much hit all the attractions. Yes I did the Bobsled! 41 seconds..track record for the day! We enjoyed watching the ski jumping and the free style skiers landing in the swimming pool. Climb the ski jump, great views from the top.

RE: Ticks!

Yes Cape Cod is notorious for ticks. Because of the mild fall and winter they are very plentiful. I got bit the week before Thanksgiving and my son got bite the week after. We both had the bullseye rash and were treated with antibiotics and had a Lyme Titer done a few week later. So far so good, but I am still pulling ticks off the dogs.

RE: Is there such a thing

Bed Bath And Beyond has a thick mattress bad I believe it is called Memory Foam Mattress Pad. For a queen size you are looking at about $170. This might work for you or just invest in a better grade mattress.

RE: East Coast trip in November / December

Even if you get a occasional hotel room, you cannot leave your TT out to freeze. It would be a tough trip even in a motor home with heated tanks etc. We venture out usually in April for our first trip in NE and have the engine heater running to keep the house warm while traveling and once we arrive at the campground (only a few are open even in April) , we usually have the furnace running and have to monitor the water lines. Yes, we have even sat in snow! I would plan touring the Southeast that time of year.

RE: keep from banging?

I have seen people put cut swimming noodles on the corners of their 5th wheel slideouts that are high up. Maybe you can adapt one for the window. Whatever you decide to do, make sure it can be removed quickly so as not to hinder a fast escape God forbid you need the emergency escape window and that you kids know how to remove it. How about a bumper pad like your find in cribs os a nice stuffed animal that is long and skinny like a snake? Hope she likes snakes! :)

RE: Class C Floor Plans

Look at Winnebago Spirit, east west bed in slideout, and the Coachman Concord and Leprechaun to start with. I think I also saw a Chateau with the east west facing bed. Tioga by fleetwood has some similar floor plans. Are you opposed to a bedroom slideout? If so east west facing bed may be harder to find.

RE: Can Cats and View co-exist?

We saw this Class A last month at Cherry Hill RV Park, MD while we were visiting D.C. Custom pet door in window of motor home gave their cat access to it's daytime perch. Opps. photo did not upload from photo bucket.

RE: The Latest Trend???

I saw a Class A with a slide within a slide about 5 years ago. Not sure of the make but I guess it may catch on.

RE: Providence RI end of July 3 days needed

Normandy Farms would be the best, but is most likely all booked. There is a small campground in Bellingham, MA - Circle CG- Has full hook up and I do believe 50 amp sites. They may have vacancies and you can make it to Providence within a half hour drive. Route 126 to 99 to 146 south the 95.

RE: Lake Fishing from your campsite- PA/VA area

We stayed at Gettysburg Campground, Gettysburg,PA and our site was right on the river. I am sure if you call you can find out if they allow fishing. I had all my gear but did not have a PA license, plus we were too busy touring on that particular trip so never fished.

RE: Cape Cod Camping

If you want to be closer to Boston and not have to go over either bridge, try Sandy Pond in Plymouth. It is right on the Bourne line near the Bourne Bridge. We like to go to Scusset Beach on the canal on weekends and are booked for 2 weeks this summer. They have water/electric only with a dump station but he rate is $20. We have also stayed at Cape Cod Resort and Sweet Water.

RE: central Vermont camping

Quechee Gorge area is a nice place in autumn. There is the Quechee KOA that gets good reviews. We visit the area often and stay at the family farm so have never actually camped at the KOA. You can visit Weston and the Priory. Wherever you decide to go in VT, call ahead to make sure they are still open.

RE: Forest River Lexington vs. Jayco Melbourne

Jayco Owners Forum Here is the Jayco Owners forum. There is one on the IRV2 forum also. We looked at both of those models. Also the Coachman Concord 300TS. Make sure you have enough basement storage with those models to suit your needs.

RE: From Germany, LA, NY, to FL in THIS MH !!

I saw one last week in Washington DC parked next to the Lincoln Memorial and the Korean War Memorial on April 17, 2012. It had Alaska plates. I had a claustrophobic attack just looking at it. I would be like the family dog with my head hanging out the window!

RE: Black Tank: How Full is Too Full?

I only traveled once with the black tank full. The local state park had a dump station problem so we could not dump. We had no problems and only had to travel 60 miles. During the season April to November, I always leave some water in the black tank. I use the Geo Method -detergent/liquid Calgon. When we pull into a campground I fill the black tank 3/4 full of water. Once it registers full, I dump the black then the grey. We are usually at full hook ups. I refill with water 3/4 then detergent/Calgon mixture added. When leaving a campground, same procedure but I clean the black with the built in sprayer, dump the grey. I then put about 1/4 water, detergent/Calgon and ice for the ride home or to the next campground. I always leave a little water in the black tank in case we use it on the road. Don't want to build up that pyramid! The ice swishes around the tank while on the road and cleans the tank even more. I have a clear elbow attachment on my sewer line so I can see when the water runs clear from the black tank. Starting our 4 season and the sensors still work and no problems with the tanks.

RE: Where to RV Camp near Washington, DC?

We just left Cherry Hill yesterday after staying there for a week. Metro bus bring you right to the metro and there are tours that pick you up right at the campground. You can also purchase your metro tickets at the campground. The metro buses are cash only $1.70 to go from Cherry Hill to metro. Drivers do not give change so make sure you have dollar bills and change. The metro is great, when the train arrives it will have lights the color of the line (Green line) for Cherry Hill. The last stop on the line is displayed on the car so you know what direction you are going. Parking is limited in DC so the metro is the way to go.

RE: Hello from Wyoming

Wymoning, one of our favorite states to visit. Enjoy your RV and happy travels. You won't have to drive very far to see some awesome sights!

RE: washington DC?

The last stop on the green line is Greenbelt. That is probably where you parked your truck.

RE: How much longer is the drive in an RV?

I drive a 32 foot Class C and like to maintain an average speed of 60. Just drove from MA to MD to visit DC. The GPS said 7 and a half hours. We made it in 8 and a half. We also travel with 2 dogs, so stop every 2 to 3 hours for a doggie break. Plus you will have to stop for gas more often then with a car. We corordinate doggie/gas/lunch stops to make as few as possible. Stopped 3 times for such stops on the way down here. Of course the wife yelled stop at every gift shop, farm stand, and mall we passed. I just learned to say "We wil hit it on the way back". LoL Will you be the only driver? We drove to Daytona Raceway for NASCAR from MA to FL in 19 hours with 4 drivers. Only stopped for gas stops.
