RE: Rolling up awning rope lights

Do you have pics? And information about where to buy them? Thanks! No pictures yet, but these are what I bought to install. Tri-color LED waterproof light strip with remote controller. If you only want white or single color, they will be even cheaper. I have to get these, thanks for sharing!

RE: Brake/Stop Lights

I was having that problem on the right side of my TT. I never found out what was causing the problem but replaced both sides brake/tail lights with LED conversions and haven't had any problems since.

RE: Laptop or iPad?

There are probably experts on the iPad here that can be more helpful than me but my two cents is that if it will be the only computer you have then I think you should have a laptop. There are limitations to the iPad. My wife and my 11 year old son keep coming across websites that don't display correctly. Also there are limitations to what you can connect to it and printing can be a challenge. I think it's a great device but I personally wouldn't want it to be my only computer.

RE: Input from those with kids...

If you plan on keeping it for a while, I recommend the 281BHS. We've had to upgrade our TT twice because of the kids. They started out sharing a bed, then they wouldn't do that anymore so one was on the sofa which as you said, got old quick. Then we upgraded so that there were two bunks but they turned out to no be big enough. Our current TT has one single bunk up top and a double on the bottom. I don't think we've learned our lesson yet because the kids are still arguing about who gets the double bunk. Oh well, maybe next time we'll get it right.

RE: Poop there it isn't

Yes, we poop in the RV. It was designed to be pooped in and it was the only way I could get my wife to go camping. We've pooped in it for many years and have not had any odor problems except when the fan is running in the bathroom and we flush. It sucks the odor right up from the tank. Take care of the tank and it will take care of you! :)

RE: Shower head replacement

I use one of these for each shower in my home, I think it will work with the RV shower but I haven't tried it.

RE: Disappointed with Camping World/GS tactics in Raleigh, NC

I understand your disappointment with the RV show and your $10, I've been there. Regarding the other things, while I understand your concern, it's Business 101 and common. Competition has always been good for the consumer. I bought my TT from Bill Plemmons in Winston-Salem. I got a great deal and had one warranty repair that they handled wonderfully. I then had another repair that occurred just out of warranty and like you, they handled it professionally and did the work at no charge to me. I will buy all of my future RV's from Bill Plemmons based on my experience. IMHO, Camping World is going to have to be amazing to compete with the level of service provided by Bill Plemmons. If they end up being amazing then well... the consumer wins.

RE: campground close to DC

Cherry Hill is great. There is a bus that picks you up at the park and takes you to the Metro train to go into DC. The office at the park will assist with info. We would not stay anywhere else in DC area and we would not try to drive and park in DC. X2

RE: New LED Projector for TV

I've had three personal projectors and a couple different ones at work, my favorites have been Epson and Optima for picture quality. I can't speak to model numbers. I highly recommend this website. I ordered a screen from him that I take camping with us. He was recommended on a Back Yard Theater Forum that I spent some time on. He was extremely professional, helpful and friendly. He recommends some projectors.

RE: light for my kindle

We bought a cover for the Kindle that has a built in light that pulls out when you need it. The great part is that it uses the Kindle battery so you never have to worry about batteries. We use it often and there isn't a noticeable drain on the Kindle battery. Amazon Link

I was under the impression you had to also have it activated through your service provider for a fee.

RE: IOS 5.1 Available

I was having poor battery life with my 4s that I bought about a week ago. I did the update last night and my battery life seems better. There is an article that says some owners didn't see improvement.

RE: Acorns!

Weather folklore says a large acorn crop indicates a long cold winter. I know that wasn't one of the concerns you were thinking of but thought I'd share. Have a good winter and good luck with the acorns.
