RE: DirecTv's Home Media receiver ( record 5 programs at once )

Yes Dish Network has been advertising their similar set up for a while now also. Looks pretty good.
Dish's " Hopper " is a 3 receiver setup. What it does is dumps all signals for 4 main OTA stations during primtime only. You then have 8 days to watch it or its deleted. I think you have to have broadband internet to access it as well ( I'm not sure of that however ). They advertise that as 4 of the 6 recording options. Misleading. We record alot of cable type channels ( NatGeo, Tru, LMN, ect )so that would'nt work for us ( and we dont have broadband internet either ).
"Hopper and Joey" by DISH - - the DVR has three *tuners*.
Hopper & Joey "Tech" Info - see Post #2
(IMO) - no broadband required (?)
Advertised same way - *NEW* customers only.
Good-bye to DirecTV may be . . . soon!.:W
Yep - recording more than one channel at once is xlnt for the DW!.:B

RE: Shurflo Smart Sensor 5.7 vs Revolution 4008 pumps

My Shureflow 5.7 has been running great for 7 years. Plenty of water(no difference when another faucet is turned on) and so quiet we never hear it come on. My understanding that many problems are related to low voltage and leaky lines.

RE: Never Again, Camping World

I can't even bring myself to enumerate all the stuff still wrong with this unit from when they wrecked it.
Every time we think about it our day is wrecked not to mention everything before that.
One of biggest thing is they didn't tell us. We discovered it which should have been easy but were still trying to get things fixed promised from day one.
I find it impossible to believe the hell we went through and are saddled with for life.
This is one reason I don't want to deal with the costly mistakes from having the oil changed at another place.
We simply cannot handle any more.
Why would you post this after the CEO openly asked that he be contacted? I like Camping World.

RE: Information Discussion for Gate Guards

Darn......is it to late to buy stock in moth balls? I know after folks read this and see Don's pet, there will be a run on moth balls in south Texas....:B
According to the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC), the ingestion of just one mothball can cause serious problems in dogs and cats. Licking of a mothball can cause vomiting, lethargy, seizures and blood disorders. Kidney failure and coma can develop.

RE: Florida Inspection Stations

Texan There may be instances where exempt vehicles are required to stop for some type of inspections, but they will not be for agricultural inspections. You know as well as I do, that a LE Agency can and does hold inspections and just because you drive an RV, does not automatically exempt you. Also, one of the two times I was "inspected" at the I-95 inspection station was by the Ag team and they were specifically looking for Ag products, so don't say never. That is not a word in LE vocabulary.
Another GOOD Reason Our Judicial System Has Judge's.

RE: What ever happned to RVTV?

Hi stew! I happened to see this thread and thought I'd check in and to get an update. Thanks for your kind words above ... yes, I had a great time watching RVtoday. You and Boze covered a lot of territory in those years, and you had a great audience ! I understand that you are now "Professor Stew", teaching broadcast journalism in LA at Biola University. And it just so happens that understand that you uploaded another YouTube RV video today ... RVing in Nashville. I can hear Boze sing at the Ryman Auditorium in this one. So, Stew, If you would just lose the infomercial atmosphere, then you might have a chance to put your pot of gold back on the air.

RE: What ever happned to RVTV?

Thanks Stew. What is certain to me from your years doing the show, and from all your years in TV, there is a HUGE audience for quality RVing programming on TV. Why it isn't serviced in any regular way is perplexing. Also, the RVing community spends $$$$$ on their passion. It's the perfect combination for a TV demo ... a large and loyal audience, and folks who have $$$$. It also happens to be a crowd that spends wisely! Thank you again for the comments above.

RE: cleaning tile grout

Hey I really think you should take professional help before it gets out of hand. Sacramento tiles are generally are grout resistant. You must have had some extraordinary circumstances.
You can also rent a professional grout machine at most hardware stores. It removes existing grout and replaces with new grout. Very reasonable and works great. Make sure that you measure the width of your grout line so that they can match up the proper machine head and contour angle. You should be able to rework most MH grout lines in one days rental. The machines are somewhat loud so make sure all pets are out of the MH.
Good Luck....

RE: Knock Sensor

Where are the Knock sensors located on the 8.1 ?
On the Small Block Vortec (4.8 / 5.3 / 6.0) they are located UNDER the intake manifold. You have to pull the intake to access them.
It's a well know issue of failure for the sensors (in the Small block Vortec)when people have their engine cleaned and water is sprayed on the top side of the engine.
Large Block are mounted on the outside of the intake....typically below the intake....They are nothing more than a microphone tuned to around 5mhz. On boats we used to tap with a heavy wrench in the same vicinity to see if the engine changes idle . Check to be sure the plugs are in good shape. The actual sensor take out is a ten minute job...getting to it can be a monkey to deal with.....
Good luck
btw: you can google "location of knock sensors on 8.1 (year model) and find all types of good info.

RE: Knock Sensor

My 2002 P-32 Workhorse 8.1 engine is reporting a Knock Sensor code. I can reset it, and it may stay off for several days or only for a couple hours. Nothing else appears wrong. Local repair shop dismisses this as a bad sensor.
Any ideas?
A well equipped shop should be able to distinguish between a bad sensor and an actual problem. If they concluded it was a bad sensor, did they change it? If it is a bad sensor, and you ignore it, it may affect the way your computer control module regulates the timing and other settings for your engine and substantially affect your mileage.
Rather than paying good money to a shop go to an auto parts house. Let them read the code and then buy the sensor. They will be able to print out the procedures on replacing it.
Good Luck

Bulky to store and real tough to clean in a limited area. Remember that many RV Parks do NOT allow cleaning your cooking equipment under an outside faucet.

RE: Minnesota Fishing Trip

Ah, Bumpy,MN has great fishing, with plenty of "real" fish, including LM bass. Or walleye, pike, musky, SM bass and plenty more. Not sure how you came to the conclusion that 6" trout was all it has to offer, but I can assure you from my own fishing trips to MN that statement of yours is WAY off base.
I agree since both of my grandparents were from MN, Tyler and Askov, and I spent a lot of time fishing in MN. just was a bit upset at their extremely high temp fishing license cost. my 6" trout was referring to what some trout fishermen consider to be game fish, I consider to be bass bait. :)
