RE: Hartford (AARP) insurance

Last year I got a REALLY good quote from the Hartford to replace my escalating Progressive rates....it was for a stated value ....when I called their bluff on the quote, they told me the underwriters would not do a stated value on my coach because of the dollar amount.... I pitched a fit with them about falsely enticing me and that we had an agreement...they supposedly have the right to review all quotes AND new issues for several months and cancel them if desired....so.....an agreement is very hollow....

RE: Toyo Tires

Sully....interesting tires but don't know if I'd have enough clearance as mine are about 3" less diameter, plus my Michelins have done very well....just aged out...the sidewalls are perfect......

RE: Good ol Camping World!

I received a call from a very concerned Camping World manager in Kentucy today...apparently they are following this board and react to negativity very well! The manager has done research into this problem I had and advised me of the lack of Michelin distributors to get a 'best' price and their per tire cost was close to what the $1195 price I was given. She offered a similar tire...Sampson?..Chinese????..for $4xx or offered to price match the price I received for the Michelins from several local tire dealers just to keep me as a customer. This shows their concern because they would apparently lose THOUSANDS of dollars for the 8 tires in this transaction. I was very impressed by this offer even though I already have arrangements to get the XRVs elsewhere...I think this thread is still being followed by the Camping World management, and that is a good thing. They understand the importance of customer service for my particular problem and have really tried VERY hard to correct this it, even at their expense if I accepted....and this concludes my input for this subject..........

RE: used motorhome tires

I called all 3 tire retreaders and sellers of used truck tires...NO ONE is interested in 7 yr old tires that look great but are aged out....at ANY price...maybe it's my odd size 305 70 22.5...

RE: used motorhome tires

pappappy, you missed the point....we are trying to get something for our OLD tires, not buying old ones.....local truckers are sometimes interested in them for local "yard dog" routes

RE: used motorhome tires

RE: used motorhome tires

I'm in the process of getting new tires...can't find anyone interested in my old ones with 31K miles and NO sidewall cracks....probably due to the odd size 305 70 22.5

RE: Good ol Camping World!

The referenced Pirelli tire is drive axle specific...really looks 'trucky' too...probably a kidney shaker... Won't touch GY.... That leaves the big M as the choice.... Just got an out the door quote of $6100 for eight.the highest was $7300..several others in the mid 6 grand range.still checking to see if the FMCA deal will be better....either way......YIKES !!!

RE: Good ol Camping World!

JJbirsih, you are apparently mistaken... TireRack has details of ratings and say "tires will be branded with their load range (Load Range D or LRD) on their sidewalls and list their appropriate load range letter in their descriptions as ST205/75R15 LRD." My sidewall says LRL.....L=20 ply....nothing to do with speed rating!

RE: Good ol Camping World!

"Any good truck tire shop can take care of you." INCORRECT!!!..Called more than several truck tire shops...No one can find the equivalent load range L in that size...and I don't want just any truck tire that will roll...it has to be butt friendly

Good ol Camping World!

I'm shopping for tires and stopped in the Robertsdale, AL store Saturday...the girl had a 'deer in the headlights' look as she was trying to pull up some info on them..size 305 70 22.5..I think I am stuck with Michelin....the computer was stalling with the dreaded hourglass.....after about 10 min she handed me off to a guy who apparently JUST started there....he didn't know anything about much at that point...he looked from a different working computer and told me they have a brand new account being set up and can't give me a quote until next week, where the tires would likely come from Michigan....he would call me back this week... Then I asked if they can install them and balance for me...he said he thinks he saw a balancing machine in the back.... How do these places stay in business??????? Not a real warm fuzzy feeling for about a $5000+ pending purchase:E

RE: Anyone added Hose/connection For BBQ from propane tank?

I 'T"ed into my iron gas pipe on the curb side going to the kitchen range..have a quick disconnect hose about 15 feet long...this is low pressure gas (post regulator) and it works GREAT with a Weber Q that has the regulator removed and a quick connect fitting in its place...I think Weber is one of the few where the gas valve is actually seperate from the regulator, making it an easy mod...never a lighting problem and the hose is very supple and easy to store

RE: Toyo Tires

"Please do not just compare size (Like 295/80 to a 295/75) as the weight rating is way different. My 295/80R22.5 load range H is 6670# and a 295/75R22.5 load range H is 6110# on the Toyo M154. Looks close in size but not in weight capacity." That's the problem I'm having...Load range L for my tire is about 7300+ pounds..I don't think I should cut that CC by very much!

RE: Toyo Tires

I have been looking for a replacement brand for my Michelin XRV 305 70 22.5 load range L and cannot seem to find an equivalent tire in another brand....I will be needing 8 in the next few months :E If any one has suggestions for a less expensive load range L tire, I'm all ears!!!

RE: Are my house batteries sick?

"How many amps does the fridge draw" about 1-2 after starting...the amp draw on the display showed about 14..don't know from where

Are my house batteries sick?

They should be....original from a 2005 install...Interstate 6v deep cycle...after road running for 3 hours with the genny on and being fully charged before hitting the road, I noted my Intellitec display showing 12.3-12.4 volts with the engine and genny off and the residential fridge running...I don't have a hydrometer to check acid state and haven't equalized for over a year...What should normal voltage show with a fridge running? I'm suspecting my house batteries might be near the end of the road:h
