RE: Sunny Brook RV Park, South Haven, Mi

At an RV show, we picked up an invitation to visit this park free for a week. I have also seen ads for the same offer in magazines. The park looks very nice. Has anyone been for a "FREE" stay? If so, is there a catch or charges we should be aware of?take your bike or bikes, KalHaven Trail State Park is close and you can bike to South Haven, "Nice", also the CG is "very Nice" too! Bill:)

RE: CoachNet

A couple weeks back I needed a jump too. My call to Coach-Net and they said they'd give me a call back for a ETA. All went well except no wrecker but a POV arrived, it was a SUV, "POV" belonging to the wrecker employee. I had no problem because it was still great service. Bill:)

RE: LITTLE RIVER CASINO RV PARK (Manistee, MI)

If you feel like a short drive while at LR, I'm located off M37 just north of M115. I'd like to show you my project. (31 to 55 to 37 to 115 to 37; and then a couple miles north, off 37). Bill

RE: Blanket Reprimands

I'm hoping someone can give me an answer to this? When bosses have a problem with one or a few employees, why do they give "blanket" reprimands rather than talking directly to the ones involved? I don't understand the reasoning behind it. Can someone explain???Because its too easy to include everyone and my opinion management have a hard time dealing with one on one unless its to fire an individual. Bill

RE: Ground squirrel invasion

My Dobie does the job for me. Any critter coming into my yard is fair game. They now stay on the outside of the fence and look for her and bypass my yard. Bill:B

RE: After Retirement Employment

After I retired from LE, I was asked if I'd consider driving for a car dealer. If you have one in your area stop and check it out. I love the dealer trades (new car) to another dealer. I've been to Wi, Mn. Tn. Ind. Oh. NY. Just got back from NY. I've seen husband wife teams. one drives the chase car and the other drives the other car back. Its fun for me because I only do it Dec to Apr. I get to drive new vehicles and or used which come from some very large auctions. I've taken my Doberman when I drive a truck and trailer a new vehicle out of state. I'll stop at a rest area to get some shut eye and she keeps a watchful eye on the transport. Bill:)

RE: Any of you ever buy a truck from an auction?

I've been driving for a local dealer this winter and have been for the past four years.(only during the winter) We make trips to auctions all the time. I would never have given it a thought of buying one in the wee past, but I see alot of low mileage lease vehicles, trucks included. I also see some push, pull or tug there too! You can find out where it came from and "normally" service on these are performed when required. I'm impressed when I see clean oil, spotless exterior and interior. Then driving one back for a few hours normally tells me if it is a good one. The dealer I drive for in the winter sells more pre owned than new right now. (but still sells alot of new ones) Bill.

RE: funny experience with my Dobie

""Dad gets quiet time too"" Really My Dobie get's pleanty of exercise time. I have a fenced yard and she is out more than in doors I think! She waits for a furry critter to come in so she can chase it back out! She loves the snow and when I shovel the snow off my deck, she jumps into the snow attempting to grab a mouth full when I toss it. I have a large ball with a ring handle, its made especially for horses. When I throw it she'll jump in the air to catch it and actually uses her front legs to attemp the catch. She is what you might say is Daddy's girl!!

RE: Line-x Premium and bed mat reviews?

I have a 2500HD with Line X and a GM bed mat, works like a charm, bed still looks like new and the camper stays put! If you plan on keeping your truck I'd get the uv protection, my truck is 8yrs old now and you can see where the sun is hitting the bed liner, looks dull in those areas.I agree with the line X and rubber mat. I still had things slide around with only the spray liner but much less when I added the mat. Infact I used an old mat and made a wide mud and debris mat for the rear to prevent damage to my fifth wheel. I bought product similar to black paint which is used to wipe on the liner to make it look just like it was new spray on. I got it from a Rhino dealer. Bill

RE: Storage lot theft

That time of year again. This morning I had coffee with my uniform friends who I worked with prior to retirement. They were busy taking car Larcenies from Motel parking lots. I have a Doberman who likes to stay in my truck even when I'm not in it. I'd sure like to see the expression on a face if they attempted to gain entry in my truck with her in the back seat. GRRRRR Bill :) Problem with that is if the guy is armed, your pooch is going to take a bullet. Never seen a dog that could handel pepper spray, if they want in they are getting in.true however when they are entering by breaking the glass etc, they normally don't have pepper spray or a gun in hand. But good point. Bill

RE: kayaks vs canoes

I have a 3 person canoe, 2 person ocean kayak "sit on top" and a one person kayak. I love all of mine but each one has it's place. I hear alot of good talk about the inflatables and for a full timer with little room these are popular. Bill

funny experience with my Dobie

This evening while reading, my Doberman was pestering me to play w/her. She brought her squeaky ball dropped it at my feet. I ignored her. She went on a rampage running back and forth from my living room down the hallway with the ball in her mouth. Every time she ran past me she would drop the ball then jump on it and again run back and forth. It was so funny that I could not hold back my laughing, this makes her more playful. It was just like when my kids were young and they did something so funny, but you knew if you laughed, they'd continue. To my surprise the last time past me she jumped up on my lap, all 84 pounds worth. then looks at me as if to say "gotcha"! I don't know what I'd do without her. Just thought I'd share this with other's. Bill:)

RE: Snow Blower

What brand/model would you suggest for a snow blower? Daughter must purchase one immediately but knows nothing about them, nor I, except that they blow snow and have this rotating thingy like an old style lawn mower :). Snows at her location in feet, so must be ready to clear the white stuff so y she can get to work. Any suggestions regarding a good reliable machine? I live 2 thousand miles away and cannot help, other than to cheer her on and offer help in finding one that should not break within the first or second use.I had a Honda 0ne stage for about 20 years, worked well but I just wore it out. Last year I got a 2 stage Cub Cadet, think a 26 incher. I got it from Tractor Supply here in Michigan. Many forward speeds and 2 reverse. I do like to play in the snow but also have a blade on my tractor. Bill
