RE: Driving in high heat conditions

If the engine is within OEM specs and weight is not over gross, you should be fine.

RE: Solar Flares vs. Solar Panels & Generators

If you want to worry about something go look up the manmade thing that will mess with the same thing the solar flares does... It is called the "HAARP"... their moto is "Angels dont play this HAARP"... Lots of dooms-day conspiracy surrounding the HAARP program.. In other words its not nice to mess with mother nature...
Thanks RoyB... I grew up at Vandenberg (Lompoc Valley) in the sixties and have seen some strange things in the sky and on the pads there probably including some of the HAARP stuff on Thor/Agena and Atlas boosters.

RE: Solar Flares vs. Solar Panels & Generators

No... More like me and various others that have pacemakers or other life sustaining medical devices "suddenly" having a "difficult" time surviving :(Good Lord, the man told a joke. I'm certain he didn't intend to wish any evil on you or anyone else. :R
Lordy people... My response WAS MEANT TO BE TAKEN as HUMOR!!!
It's called "Gallows Humor" and most people living with the threat of death have a case in some degree of it. I am very familiar with what EMP can do to electronics (which includes pacemakers) and is what sunspots generate as I have lived on a target all my life being a part of SAC (yes my dad was/is SAC too) and continue to live near major military installations.
Loosen up! :R

RE: Solar Flares vs. Solar Panels & Generators

I am wondering what the effects of solar flares could have on solar panels and generators in an emergency?None and any EMP large enough to take out electronics and we ALL have MUCH larger problems than whether our RV generators are working.
You mean that Giant Tarantula that was awakened from the depths of Death Valley by solar flares, heading for your place, that the National Guard can't stop even by using flame thrower tanks and bazookas?
No... More like me and various others that have pacemakers or other life sustaining medical devices "suddenly" having a "difficult" time surviving :(

RE: Honda EU2000i - 49 State vs 50 State Difference?

Because the C.A.R.B. said all generators for sale in the state will meet l will have certain "specifications"... That's one of the many.

Look up California Air Resources Board (CARB) and some of the ID10T rules it has.
Should make it a lot "clearer". :h

RE: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

Kendas: What happened to your rr wheel? Factory defect or another PO up to no good?
Factory defect... Bearing seat was machined too thin causing the bearing to round out the seat. Only fix is to have the wheel re-machined and a sleeve put in (easiest cheapest) or have a different year rear wheel "assembly" put on (expensive and not any better than the other fix.)

Just pullin your chain Leeann... USE THE CAIN! You REALLY don't want to screw up the work already done. I hurts more if it has to be done over again cause you did something dumb and I'll keep reminding you (along with a couple of others here too (right Trish?)) if you do. :P

RE: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

Cast is off, boot is on. It's a lot more comfortable. I'm a little sore but not that bad.
I'm allowed to start putting a little weight on, here and there. And I'm supposed to soak in warm water + epsom salts once or twice a day.
Break my wittle heart Leeann... Must be real hard on you taking a "...warm + epsom salt bath once or twice a day". :W

RE: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

And some of us are working on their other "toy"... Putting more mid-eighties period aftermarket parts on the goldwing. Next up is to replace the rear wheel on it (wheel not tire). 84 (and late 85s) had a problem with a rear bearing race).

RE: Can't find a good back up beeper

Ladies and gentlemen... Noel can correct me if I get this wrong, but I believe he's talking about a proximity alarm or a RADAR/SONAR alarm that will sit IN THE CAB and let him know when he is getting close to an object when backing (it's optional on some newer cars and trucks). IT IS NOT one of the hated external "backup beeper/horns"!
I can see the use of one for "gross" clearance checking in addition to an expensive camera system. You would use it to get close without having to be constantly looking at the video and when the system says your close you concentrate on the video... Much better that you are looking around you when backing to see what's around you.
I use my self installed camera system as a rear view "mirror" as I like to see what's a little bit more behind my RV than the ground behind the hitch.

RE: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

I don't want to hear it Trish! I had similar thoughts when I lost my leg... Six months later I was back on the Goldwing. It was a long road back, but going out to the airbase and practicing on the MSF range for the last six years I can now do ALL the exercises for both the basic and advanced programs. This includes doing figure eights in an 18x40 foot box with an 800 pound fully dressed bike.
All it takes is refusing to give in and let the "nay sayers" win.
