RE: Bed length for a fifthwheel

Both will work just a mater of what are you going to put in the bed. I prefer the 8 ft have a lot of clutter to take along.

RE: How much wind to flip a 5th wheel?

Living in Amarillo, TX the winds are always blowing. Have the FW sitting on concrete blocks. When the winds are clocking 60 to 70 it rocks but have had no problems. Don't bring the slides in either. Does make you wonder.

RE: Need advice, traveling 2k miles in 5th wheel. (new to rving)

The people in and around Amarillo,TX pull FW's all over the state with goosenecks. Since moving there have seen a lot of them. Guess the whole answer to the question is, We that tow with fifth wheel hitches are more comfortable with this hitch than the gooseneck because of the pressure on the frame. Cowboys and farmers pull goosenecks all over the place with no problems. It's a matter of choice. See ya down the road.

RE: fifth wheel hitch comparisons

I have the B&W, the fact that I can just look at the hitch from the tail gate to see the jaws are locked makes me feel better. Looked into others but bought the B&W. Very pleased with the results.

Didn't know you couldn't without putting miles on first. My 6.7 started towing with 98 miles on OD. My 06 only had a few miles also. Sweet looking ride.

RE: urgent help -- first time buyer looking at TT tomorrow

Check for window leaks had that with a TT found out later. Soft spots tell all look for any kind of stains in bath kitchen else where. Skylites, does the hot water heater, furnance, Fridge on both gas or electric, stove, water pump, slides, all windowcranks, exterior door latch right? Look at as a investment.
Check it out.

RE: Which product to stabilize the FW?

I'm useing the wheel chocks. But I'm fulltiming and useing concrete blocks for more stability. Other wise just a block under the jacks with wheel chocks. They do remove a lot of the movement witha lower cost.

RE: Suburban Hot water Heater

Well this is what I found, The heating element for 120 V side is open no ohms reading. Next went to the 12V gas side found that the high temp limit was loose yesterday so I tightened up. Went to lookat this again decided to remove limit and found a lot of corrosion behind. Cleaned everything reassembled and the gas side works fine. Now I have repair the electric side. Thanks for all the help.

Went to use the hot water heater did not start. The lite for the sw has been burned out for a while. Went out side to check for a reset their is none. Took cover off the high temp SW. the 120 volt was loose so I tightened it up and cleaned the connection. Turned SW on and it worked. Next time went to use Nothing was getting late figured I would look at it again today. Suggestions? the Suburban book tells you nothing just parts break down. Full Timing in TX.
