RE: Increasing mileage when towing

I have a K&N filter installed. Can't say that it helped to any noticable amount. I also use full synthetic oil and I use MotorKote. Still can't say I noticed any significant improvement while towing. Maintaining a speed about 60 to 62 mph seems to give me the best mpg. I do think my milage around town (non towing) did improve some.

RE: Towing with a Tahoe/yukon

We use a 2007 Tahoe 5.3 w/3.73 and tow our 233T at about 4100 lbs. not loaded. While Michigan is mostly flat we have no problems. I am anxious to try other states with mountains. Our milage towing is 10 to 11 mph and combo city/highway is 17 to 18 w/active fuel management. I am satisfied with the mpg's. We towed the same trailer with an Explorer V6 got the same mpg's but had a difficult time getting up and over the Zilwaukee bridge. No extra power at all.

RE: Pin Size and Small Holes in Bed Ends any suggestions

If you don't want any kind of sealant try buying a set of Pop Up Gizmos. You can kill 2 birds with one stone,
1. You cover the affected area
2. You get the advantage of keeping the bed ends warmer/cooler and keeping the top of the bed clean. Get the High Wind option.

RE: AAA Special Price

I have used the AAA Plus RV road service several times for TV tows. I have not been disappointed. I haven't used it out of state and I hope I don't have to use it for the TT.

RE: Slide Wiper Seals

I have the same issue with my slide. I cleaned the side of the slide and the rubber seals and then I used Aerospace 303 on the rubber. I think it helped but when I open and close the slide I usually 'help' the rubber seals while the slide is moving.

RE: Necessary Tools?

Ty Wraps or Zip Ties and super glue should be on the list as well as some minor plumbing supplies.

RE: campgrounds need to recycle

The State Park we go to has recycle bins which is nice. Not sure if it through out the park system here. If we are at any other campground we will look for a recycle center in a town near by. Off the subject a bit....some of the Michigan State parks provide dog poop bags which I think is a great idea......just gotta get the folks to use 'em.

RE: no propane flow

Don't rule out the hoses from the tank to thre regulator. There is a small check valve/ball in there that could be sticking and causing the gas not to flow. I have replaced both of my hoses since 2008 because of this problem.

RE: Preventing Awning Mold

I don't know if you can prevent the mold but you might be able to slow it down and make it easier to clean. I just bought a product called 'Wet and Forget' for the mold and such in the garden on my wooden fence. I thought about using it on the awning but I don't know if it will work on the awning material. I will do some checking and reply if I find out. Perhaps someone will have another idea.
P.S. Since posting I looked at the 'Wet and Forget' website and it sounds like it will work on the awning. Check out their website.

RE: How do you sell your used equipment?

I have sold several things on Craigslist. The most enjoyable item was a partically brand new Eureka tent sold to a Boy Scout troop. They got a real good deal and I threw in extras for free. Just be careful as there are a lot of crazies out there.

RE: Toaster oven

We have used a toaster oven for several seasons without any trouble for frozen pizzas, garlic bread etc. You might find a thread on adding a counter top extension on the forum.

RE: Dyson Hot Fan Heater

We have a ceramic disc heater that we use and we like it. However we haven't camped in really cold weather. 48 degrees was the coldest. As it was already said 1500 watts is 1500 watts. Maybe a catalytic heater would be better.

RE: How long do most people keep their trailers?

We bought a PUP in 2000 kept it for seven years and traded in for a 2008 Surveyor 233T which we still enjoy. Will probably keep it another few years the trade again.

I am 99.99% the driver, the wife just backs it up on occasion and only a short distance at that.

RE: Pine sap on rubber roof

I would just leave it alone due to the nature of the roof material. You may want to contact the manufacturer. Good luck.

There is a KOA in the Holly area that is open into November. I believe it is at exit 101 off I-75.

RE: Savages stole my battery, clipped wires

When I take my 233T back to the storage lot I remove the battery. I also chain the LP tanks. When winter comes along I remove the LP tanks and spare tire and store in the garage. I guess I don't want to give anyone the stuff for free but I suppose that if they don't find my gear they might get PO'd and do damage to the trailer. I have heard that locks just keep honest people honest.
