RE: Our first cross country rv trip
We have been full timers for 2 years. We have a 18 year old rig, gasser, and we try to plan our cross country trips on Interstates. Example- Int 10 thru AZ, NM, TX vs Int 40 or Int 70. In March of this year we traveled from Las Vegas NV to Central Illinois in 7 days. 2300 miles, long way compared to shorter routes, but we could travel 300 plus miles a day. One day we did 500 miles. 8 hours is alot of driving. We never drive at night. About 12 noon, we decide where we will stay for the night, pick a location and call to tell the RV park our location and most parks can tell us when we will arrive. We have an up-link for the computer and use this site for Good Sam Parks to stay. If you do not have internet to use, get the Good Sam book with parks listed.
Just do it, you will surprised how easy it is.
Last year we went from Las Vegas NV to Syracuse NY---- planned nothing until we got rolling that day.

Convert your RV’s propane water heater to gas/electric
Has anyone used the 'Hott Rod Water Heater Conversion Kits' to convert gas Water heating to gas/electric water heater?
Or is there any other type you have used to convert from gas only to gas/electric?
Any ideas or help will be appreciated.

RE: Portable electric heater that doesn't burn out?
We received a portable heater as a gift from a co-worker for the RV, called a HOLMES brand, she purchased it from a Target store. It is approximately 12" x 8" has all different settings. we have used the heater over 2 years and also bought a second one for the bedroom and have NOT used our propane heater since.

Last summer, all Good Sam Parks accepted a $5 off coupon that was printed out from the Good Sam website. Does anyone know if there is the same coupon this year??? Thanks

Lighting Configuration for Motorhome
Our ceiling lights in the front living area are not working. Both florescent and bulb. Kitchen and bath and bedroom are fine.
all fuses are on on... any input will be helpful. we are plugged in 50 amp electric service, all house batteries are fully charged.
Possible fuses??

Just another quick note- if you are planning on a trip to Vegas during NASCAR week, make reservations- I know our RV park is booked. Race week is 3/7 thru 3/11/2012.

We are presently in Las Vegas staying on Boulder Hwy, at Arizona Charlie's Boulder Rv Park. They have dogs, cats and big rig pull thrus.

Not sure how long you want to stay, we pay monthly rates. Includes power, water, sewer, Cable tv, Telephone line. We have a Casino, club house, heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, large club house with laundry room, tv's pool table and exercise room. It is approximately 2.5 miles from the LV Strip.

We are traveling North in Missouri on Int 55, and trying to find a RV campground near MO Int 55, where Int 255 crosses the Mississippi River to Illinois Int 255. The would be near Telegraph Road in MO.

Crossed the USA in 1963 with my Mom and Dad...always loved those 'silver trailers' on the road as a teenager, and now at the other end of life in retirement we have been full timing and still cross the USA from NY to Cali on the old road Rt 66..... Gypsy soul for life. Ole Breakm9 turned 18 this year, and is ready for the weather to break to make the trek across this great country again. See ya all on the road.......again.
