RE: Sparker on the stove not working

The piezo electric starter is very reliable but the wire connections come loose. Check them before buying more hardware.

RE: rocker switch???

I have used All Electronics to replace rocker switches. They work well for a low price. The dimensions did not fit my original switches exactly but that is ok. An RV dealer can charge $10-$15 for one switch.

RE: Water Heater Full?

Open the pressure relief valve at the top of the water heater until water comes out. THEN it is full.
:B
I would not open the pressure relief valve for two reasons. After opening, it might not close properly requiring a new valve. It might release some of the air cushion at the top of the tank which you need. I would have to look at mine to see the placement of the relief valve relative to the water outlet.
In answer to the OP the hot water outlet is near the top of the tank, so if you get water out of the hot water faucet the tank is full.

RE: Cold weather battery Questions

If the batteries discharge the electrolyte can freeze and damage the battery. You seem to have shore power so I would definitely use it over the winter. You should check to see if the converter connects to the chassis as well as the coach batteries. If not you should add that feature or put a jumper cable between the positive terminals of the two sets of batteries.

RE: Wrecked my 96 Dynasty, need advice!

I had a less severe wreck last fall when someone hit my toad. Without going into details on my wreck, The police officer came out and told the other driver that she was not driving safely for the wet conditions. However, his report did not reflect that, it just described the accident in sterile terms. Now she is claiming it is not her fault and it may go to court. In your case do you have a written report yet from the police stating that the other driver was driving unsafely under the conditions? Verbal statements at the scene don't help you and they may not appear in the report. Document everything you can and get any witnesses you can. It becomes what you can prove and if it goes to court what the judge decides. Good luck and sorry for the accident.

RE: How cold does the freezer in your Dometic side-by-side get

You have just about eliminated all but the cooling unit. Running on propane would be the last test. If that operates like the AC then it is the cooling unit. Good work.

RE: Hidden plumbing?

In any case empty the fresh water tank with the bleach using the water pump if necessary. Bleach can harm pipes if the concentration is too high. I use city water which always has chlorine in it for sanitizing. I don't have any problems doing that.

RE: How cold does the freezer in your Dometic side-by-side get

I have a thermometer in my refrigerator, which is not side by side, and I have never noticed a temperature rise due to opening the door. So you have some kind of problem for sure. The list of candidates for the problem are poorly sealing door gasket, bad circuit board, and bad cooling unit. You can check the gasket yourself and Dometic should be able to help you check the circuit board. If there is no fault with these you will need to replace the cooling unit. They are sold by here. The Amish cooling units and Dinasaur board are preferred.

RE: Excel for keeping maintenance records?

I set up my maintenance record and Excel. It works well and very easy to set up. I now have a 11 year record of my maintenance and it helps me remember what have and have not done. I can add all of the need info you wish and it comes in handy.

RE: Cyclone Sewer Vent for Roof

I have a similar produce, RV 360, and it helps some but if you have a basic problem with the toilet you still get odors. I fixed the problem and rarely smell anything.

RE: Cost to service Allison 3000 tansmission

A search shows that Transynd is about $40 per gallon which surprises me since I remember it being lower. Oil products are skrocketing.

RE: Black Tank issue

If the bottle got through the bend in the pipe from the toilet it probably will go through the bend in the pipe going to the drain. The chance that it is hung up in the bend from the toilet should be considered. Maybe an extension mirror could resolve that. If it is there there are some things you could do to retrieve it.

RE: Black Tank issue

My black tank drain is straight and maybe yours is too. That would make it possible to retrieve the bottle from the drain. It would also mean that there was no possibility of the bottle causing a clog. The bottle could remain in the tank indefinitely and cause no problem. For an idea to remove the bottle, you could use your levelers so the low side of the black tank is near the toilet. After you drain the tank the bottle could be visible through the toilet. A grabber should take care of it.

Here you go. My friend Mr Google turned up a number of sources. The one cited here is $77.

RE: Onan 7.5 Diesel Genset Fuel Pump inflated price *RESOLUTION*

Shop around. Some dealers have incredible markups. They must thing that we are captive customers. There are not that many dealers out there but you can shop around or buy online. I was charged $180 for an upper radiator hose that I later discovered other dealers sold for $80.

RE: CAT maintenance

I do my preventive maintenance myself and keep my eyes open when I do. I have found some things that way like two oil pan bolts missing. Replace belts and hoses at regular intervals.

RE: RV Barge

I faintly remember a barge (actually barge and pushing "towboat") coming past Memphis about 20 years ago with 10 or more RV's,TT's, and FW's headed downstream on the Mississippi River, ie a floating caravan.
I was told by people who took the trip that there was a barge on the Mississippi that carried many RV at a time.
Upon doing some Google research the Mississippi RV barge trips are discontinued. I found this for Tennessee RV barge trips.

RE: Leaking toilet! Help please.

There are two likely potential leaks. The water valve for flushing and the seal between the toilet and the floor. There are some access panels you can remove to look and feel under the toilet. The floor seal may be as simple as tightening two bolts. The valve may need an O ring. I replaced the O ring on mine and the valve was replaced once under warranty.

RE: Question about previous owner and a part

The dealer probably low balled the original owner when they bought it. I agree that negotiating a price from the original owner for the stove top might be the way to go. You will probably get the best match of color that way. However, there must have been a reason the top was removed such as it being damaged. I would ask for pictures before buying it at any price.
