RE: Never had this happen before

I have had something as small as a hickory nut just shatter a vent lid to bits. They do not stop aging once they are put on and the sun hits them. I keep the heavy duty covers over mine now.

RE: Waited WAY too long - Now what

Kerosene will dissolve tar. Generally will not affect most paints. Mineral spirits is good, but some paints it acts as a catalyst.

RE: New to this, very excited !!

It appears you bought a exceptionally clean nice looking Georgia Boy. If the drive train is as good as the body looks, you bought a winner. Have fun.

RE: Awning repair on the cheap?

You might as well replace it now. You are going to have constant problems with any kind of fix. Shop around for the best price however.

RE: Fun and Games at Flying J

I have never liked Flying J or worse Pilot. They always give me the impression they are doing me a favor by selling me overpriced gasoline. The Diesel fuel spilled all over the RV pump areas is terrible. I know this is the RVers fault, but they make no attempt to put sand or make any thing to remedy the situation.

RE: Telescope pics

Great Pics. Happy to see some one still cares about the natural beauty around us.

RE: Want to kill myself because....

Didn't happen to me but I saw my brother who was ahead of me, cut a corner to soon and a heavy metal roof over a big BBQ pit sliced the whole side of his motor home open from windshield back to the ladder. He had it repaired, never would tell me what it cost him. I always wondered if he had dreamed up a way for the insurance company to pay for the damage.

RE: Cigs butts on ground, garbage in fire pit and RV patio mats

I use mats also when their is no grass. However, I will be the first to admit, mats have ruined a lot of otherwise nice campsites.

RE: Having a panic attack....

Stop and think, some one built that road, and paved it. If they can you can.

RE: Lightning Strike!

Robsouth: Man you are one lucky guy. Glad it did no apparent damage and if you were in it, you are even more blessed.

RE: Wasp

Here in the Midwest we are going to have one buggy year. Already you have to clean the windshield every time you drive on the open highway.

RE: Hi, an update and A phone question

Ditto on AARP they charge for their name and you pay for that charge.

RE: This has always perplexed me...

Personally if I have been to the campground for a couple of days I have had my moneys worth. Departure day is just that to me. I want to get home, clean the rig, empty it of perishables, visit with other family members at home town. I may need to do some shopping, washing, paper work for work tomorrow. A few more hours of setting around a campground to get my money's worth just doesn't compute.

RE: update on sad day for me

John I feel your pain, been there. Talk about her as much as you can and remember all the good times. Nothing much will ever take her place, you will just learn to live with the void. God Bless you.

RE: Anti-Gravity Lounge Chairs @ Kohls

Wal-Mart has the same chair in a multitude of colors. I love them, been using them for years. Wal-Mart price is much better than Kohl's, same chair. Big Lots also have them but the price is only about a dollar different from Wal-Mart. I don't understand the o/p's remark about hard to get out of. They revert to a 100% upright position like any other chair in the world.

RE: Just Plain Gross

The next potluck dinner you are invited to in a campground, think about all of the above and see if you still want to go.

RE: National fishing license

This has been sought after for decades. Most likely never will happen. States want to spend the license fees they collect on pet projects of their own. Even if the senior license is free, they know that eventually some one will want this national license for every one and they are not going to give up their golden egg.
