RE: New to Hybrids

Make sure you have pen and paper at hand at all times, to write down the things you need! I think of something then forget a few minutes later. Take photos to remind you what sites you love best. Walmart is my favorite store to buy supplies from. Oh, and don't let anyone tell you you need special tp, just buy scotts or any other single ply paper, works fine.

Washed, dryed, and waxed it. Going up to the campground soon! Have to remember to put the stuff back in it that I took out for winter.

RE: what did you do to your hybrid today??

Bought a campground lot for my HTT to sit on permanently! Has everything we need, water, electric, and a sewage. Five interconnecting lakes and ATV riding at our door, gosh, couldn't ask for better... I think we need a bigger HTT now, something with more sleeping room.

RE: Show your mods!!

I have been a busy bee around my house with these modifications. Here is a picture of my battery cutoff switch on the inside rail.

Another mod that we did a Corian counter top cutting board on top of stove top for more counter space.

Another mod that we did was the rear clothesline that fits under our rear bunk.

Another mod that we did was the bike rack we placed inside the camper, when we arrive at the camp site we take it out of the camper and use it to store our bikes outside.

We also made a shelf to store our dishes above the sink and the dishes are still on one area when we arrive at the camp site.

You'll need to give us the password to your gmail account if we are to see those pictures.
I never gave anyone a password to a gmail account to show photos on RV.net, I don't believe that is what is wrong. Use photobucket and link to the photos.

RE: Question about stovetop on Shamrock 19?

Any warranty will be from the appliance manufacturer. There should be a booklet in that pile of things you got with the trailer. Or check their website.
I'd not put Rustoleum on anything that has high temperatures. There are specialty high temperature paints available.
-- Chuck
Yep, know about the paint, DH already nixed that idea. I will look in my stuff for the warranty on that stove, shouldn't be rusting out like that, especially since we don't use it much.

RE: Uncomfortable pull out couches....any solutions.

I can take photos of the kick panel. There are two cabinet doors (one on either side of the kick panel) and a space in between. Behind that is the storage area, so if we used that to modify it like a recliner it would open that area.
Also, to make our couch into a bed seems different that others. We take the back and pull it forward over the seating area, it doesn't jack-knife like other couches.

RE: Electronic Tongue Jack Question

We got one last year after husband had back surgery the year before, what a dream it is. I bought it on ebay (ultra fab), very good price, and was real easy to install. I think for anyone over 50, or folks with back problems it is a must have.

RE: Uncomfortable pull out couches....any solutions.

Our Shamrock is very uncomfortable even for a 5' tall person like me. I either have to sit on it with my legs up sideways, or put my legs up on the dinette seat. If I try to sit on it normally, I can't. If there was a good solution without loosing the bed I would jump on it.

Question about stovetop on Shamrock 19?

I was giving the HTT a good cleaning today and when I lifted the stove top I noticed it is rusting underneath. Is there anyway to prevent this, and do you think it may be covered under warranty? I cleaned it before I put it away and that was not like that, today there was paint peeling and it was all over the stove where the wires and such are. I will try to get a photo of it tomorrow. Another thing, the stove cover is all scratched, it was scratched when we got it (hubby didn't think it was a big deal) can you order those new?

RE: Considering buying a lot to put HTT on.

I'm curious what a lot like this sells for?
Utilities metered? Part of an association fee?
-- Chuck
Hi Chuck, the lot is $5000, association fee is $400 year, includes water, garbage pickup and black tank cleanout twice a week. Does not include electric, which is metered. Taxes are less than $100 a year.
But, it has all the things we love when we go camping. Near enough to go after work if he wants. Has orv trails that we can access right from the site and 5 interconnecting lakes we can kayak on. Plus (and this is a big plus) there are tons of activities for the grandchildren. We have not bought the lot yet, did consider a seasonal lot, but we do think this may be best for us.

RE: Considering buying a lot to put HTT on.

Another option would be to find storage lots close to parks, and store for the season. I have a friend that does that. Every year, they find a storage lot near parks that they want to visit, then just have to trailer from the lot to the park. It's not as convenient as having the rig all set when you get there, but they have the opportunity to change each season.
I think this is still too much, I can't drive the TV and he wants something simpler. I would love to camp more than twice a season, but that is all the time we have right now. I love camping with the DGK's, but never have enough time.
