RE: It's clearly spite!

Obviously, your friends' cat wants them to think of him while they're gone :B I think you're right, LOL.

RE: It's clearly spite!

That is so funny. My friends have to be very careful when packing for a trip. Their cat pee's in their open suit case. They thought one time was accident, second time revenge knowing that they are leaving for a few days.

RE: New Computer

I just bought the lower end 13 in. MacBook Pro, nice little notebook. I was really impressed with the Apple Store for transferring everything from my 15 in. Pro to the new notebook.

RE: Hey Pit Bull Owners!!!

Over the weekend my best friend's father in-law was celebrating his ninetieth birthday. To make it easy they all went out to dinner and came back to his house for cake, ice cream and to open birthday presents. While they were celebrating his birthday they heard gun shots. Well, what happen his next door neighbors had a drive by shooting. While I was talking to my friend she said the neighbors have two pit-bulls for guard dogs that are either tied up or loose. We have to live in fear the dogs will crawl under the chain link fence. I told her they can crawl up a fence real easy. At this dog park in Palm Springs a pit-bull did climb a chain link fence and attacked a minpin. The injuries were pretty bad, but the dog did survive. The poor little thing had scares all over her body. It wasn't just one dog bite.

RE: Blast from the past

That's so cool. Brings back a lot of frustrating memories. However, I don't go back far enough to remember some of those, specially the IBM red button. By the way, I haven't had to do a restart since I bought a Mac three years ago. Sorry, couldn't help gloating. No kidding it brings back lots of frustrating memories (like a nightmare). That's why I got a Mac.:B

RE: HORRIBLE experience with 'Nook' technical support!

The reason I stay with Apple products is great customer service on the phone, live chat on the internet and usually same day appt. with the Genius Bar at the Apple Store.

RE: This is the kind of stuff Apple does that drives me bonzo!

As I stated earlier this "acolyte from Redmond" owns an iTouch and two iPads, hardly an Apple hater. Seems like this thread has pretty much gotten off subject. Let's get back to RVing, likely something we can all agree on. LOL, I bet this is one of the reason they changed the rules on posting.:B

RE: Why do you go to AZ

Great weather is why they leave. We go from Dana Point to Palm Springs in April & May and maybe June because we like a longer summer, LOL. Arizona is pretty close to Palm Springs climate. Maybe Arizona is a little bit warmer. Also, hardly any rain and if it rains we look forward to it. :B

RE: Your favorite brand of poop bag

We use the bags from Petsmart and Petco on trips. At home we use sandwich bags to pickup poop and then the bags goes into one Petsmart bag and into the trash.

RE: mi-fi for my kindle???

I can't wait till next month when I can change out my Verizon Aircard for a MiFi. That's when my contract is up. My friends have a MiFi and they really like it. I just don't know which MiFi to get from Verizon. I think they have two to choose from.

Tell you the truth I have left over heavy cream which will expire in January and after Christmas I'm go to make a potato au gratin. I'll just make a casserole, bake it first and freeze it.

RE: Canned Hams

Since it's only me I go for the Hormel Cure 81 ham rather than canned. I diamond cut the sucker, stud it with clovves, and believe it or not I glaze it with LaChoy's sweet & sour sauce. I love LaChoy's Sweet & Sour Sauce. I never thought about putting it on ham. :B

RE: smoking pork shoulders

Happytraveler, that is almost exactly the same as my carnitas recipe. IMO, you will find 11 oz. of chipotle in adobo sauce spicey and a bit over powering. I like to still be able to taste the meat. Try this in place of the chipotle peppers. 1 - 4 oz. can herdez salsa ranchera sauce 1 – 4 oz. can diced Ortega chilies 1 – 4 oz. can tomato sauce Thank you, That is much better for my taste.

RE: smoking pork shoulders

I don't have a smoker, but was thinking about trying out this recipe. Is Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce very hot. I was thinking about substituting it for something else. Spicy Dr. Pepper Shredded Pork Added by Ree on March 22, 2011 in Main Courses, Pork Prep Time 5 Minutes Cook Time 6 Hours Servings 18 Difficulty Easy Ingredients 1 whole Large Onion 1 whole Pork Shoulder ("pork Butt") - 5 To 7 Pounds Salt And Freshly Ground Black Pepper 1 can (11 Ounce) Chipotle Peppers In Adobo Sauce 2 cans Dr. Pepper 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar Preparation Instructions Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Peel the onion and cut it into wedges. Lay them in the bottom of a large dutch oven. Generously salt and pepper the pork roast, then set it on top of the onions in the pan. Pour the can of chipotle peppers over the pork (include the sauce.) Pour in both cans of Dr Pepper. Add brown sugar to the juice and stir in. Place lid tightly on pot, then set pot in the oven. Cook for at least six hours, turning roast two or three times during the cooking process. Check meat after six hours; it should be absolutely falling apart (use two forks to test.) If it’s not falling apart, return to the oven for another hour. Remove meat from pot and place on a cutting board or other work surface. Use two forks to shred meat, discarding large pieces of fat. Strain as much of the fat off the top of the cooking liquid as you can and discard it. Return the shredded meat to the cooking liquid, and keep warm until ready to serve. (You can also refrigerate the meat and liquid separately, then remove hardened fat once it’s cold. Then heat up the liquid on the stovetop and return the meat to the liquid to warm up. Serve on warm flour tortillas. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, grated cheese, avocado slices, salsa, and whatever else you’d like. Spicy Dr. Pepper Shredded Pork
