RE: vegas trip

Hi does anyone have any highway information for us-93 from Twin falls to Las Vegas?? (steep/winding) thanks
Road is pretty straight...and boring...be careful going thru Jackpot...cops love speeders, esp. trucks and MH's...One little (about 10 miles or so) canyon just south of Ely before 318 hwy...Also every little town in Nevada drops the speed to about 25MPH...with lots of cops around...
Have fun in Vegas

RE: Awning Sun Screen

This is the one we have. It's worked awesome for us so far. You can see through it and it still shades the sun and keeps the temps down.Patty O Shade
How does that attach to canopy?
Thanks,
Markiemark
I have a Patty-OShade too. They have a strip at the top which you insert into, and slide along, one of the open slots that canopy rollers have. Pretty simple and works well.
Will they roll up in awning or do you have to take off each time you put awning up?
Our Carefree of Colorado sun screens will roll up in our awnings, but not for travel!!! Only for wind, while at the site..
Regards, Hamshog
Thanks that is what I was wondering as I "normally" put my awning up if we leave to go golf, or at nite...

My Kingdome will not lock in to the satellite keeps searching for a signal, I let it try for 20 mins but no sucess I just got back from wintering in Fl and it worked fine. I checked all the cables all good I took my portable sat up on the roof and locked in right away, so looks like problem with the dome Sat,it is programed for Bell Express Vu is it possible that it lost its programing for Bell? Any sugestions would be appreciated. Tks in advance Joe
Per a discussion w/ Kingdome when mine was having same issues..."On MH DVR
SET RECEIVER TO CHANNEL 19 FIRST...then Try setting up the Kingdome
It always works now

RE: Printing a pdf and deleting a tool bar in FF

Couple of different things...
1...If you are wanting to print anything as a PDF, then you can use doPDF printer...it is just a download that is stored where your printers are and converts text to PDF....
2 other programs I use...(both free versions)- Foxit and the other is Nitro...Adobe is to much of a resource hog for me...

RE: National RV

Anyone have any reservations about buying a gas National RV motorhome seeing they are out of business? Found a couple I like, but a little nervous about buying somthing from a company that is no longer in business. Even though the chassis is a workhorse and most all the components are manufactured by someone else (ie: water heater, fridge, oven, microwave, etc.)anybody have any advice? What if you were ever to have any body damage? Thanks.
Another Idahoan...welcome aboard...I have a 2005 National Dolphin that we like very well...Only problem is we aren't getting to use it enough, but trying to change that...:C

RE: Water tanks showing 1/2 full after emptying

Another thing that it "may" be is a faulty board in the control panel where you view the tanks status...If doing the cleaning doesn't take care of it..have the boards checked..

RE: Weber Q vs. Coleman RoadTrip LXE Grills

I'm looking for a new portable gas BBQ and have narrowed the search to these 2 brands. Can users of either of these brands comment on pros/cons for each? Not looking to "bash" either brand just solid reason to buy either. Thanks in advance.
We had the Coleman and now have the Weber...quite frankly we had problems with both...Coleman requires the lid up...melted handle on 1st one before I found that out, and it is more of a stove vs. a BBQ...Weber on the other hand is finicky in starting up..gone through all the help from Weber as well as several hoses, etc...
Sometimes I think an open campfire is still the way to go....:S

RE: cutoff on I-10 to avoid Phoenix

Don't mean to hi-jack this post but I will be leaving Surprise, AZ on Monday with 34 ft MH pulling an HHR heading for TX. Any suggestions to avoid Phoenix traffic without going too far out of the way? Looked to me like going the 85/I-8 route from here would be about 50 miles out of the way.
It is...the 10 is not that bad if you choose your time carefully and use the truck by-pass so you don't go thru the tunnel..

RE: cutoff on I-10 to avoid Phoenix

85 to gila bend and I-8 back to I-10 at casa grande. Very s smart. Good luck.
Problem here is that is a long way to go to get around 1/2 of Phoenix if the goal is to get east of Phoenix, but the Op doesn't say where he is going..South, then this is a good way...

If you are having trouble with your Browser crashing that may portend problems within you computer..I would try to make sure no virus/trojans/spam, etc. and clean the cache...then try the browser of your choice..they all are pretty good..except IE lower than IE9...

RE: cutoff on I-10 to avoid Phoenix

I post here because I hope for some quick responses. I have taken the route before but have forgotten the numbers for the cutoff. Heading East in 31 foot Winnebago Vista with tow Smart Car. I know I go down to the 8 and then join back with the 10 but what is the cutoff and is it ok. Thanks. Depending on what you are trying to do exactly and how far out of the way you want to go..one way is to turn off to the 85 (could be called Ogilsby (sp)rd) then to the 8 or o the maricopa hwy 85..Where are you destined for?

RE: Would you Wax your RV?

I have a 34' DP and am considering doing a wax/polish job myself. Any problems to be alerted about? How much wax/polish should I buy?
I'm thinking this will be a task to do in stages!
Thanks,
Jerry
I just figure this is an easy way for Grand-kids to get some spending money...so I have one of them do it twice a year with New Finish...Looks great and I get all the exercise I need from the golf course...:C

electrial indicator panel Flashing- FIXED

On the panel in my MH the panel that shows the(a)battery charging state, (B) the inverter being on/off, (c)if it is charging, and (d) the power share typically is showing solid lights, however, just recently it has started to rapidly flash from item to item...and I mean each one is lit up for just a flash before going to the other...Kinda like a xmas tree with flashing lights...
any thoughts? BTW my batteries are probably about 6-7 years old...the charger seems to be charging ok...
Had bad cells in one of the batteries...New re-built batteries and good to go now

RE: Computer security software question

I have used Norton and McAfee and AVG in the past...all seemed to do the job and Further they at times caught a Virus trying to get through..BUT all bogged down the computer and made it so sloooowwwww when there were not issues..I got tired of that (slowness) and tried both Panda cloud and Microsoft essentials...I currently use Microsoft, but I also use CCleaner, WOT, and WinPatrol as well as a couple of spam programs...and am satisfied and the computers have not :B slowed down since getting rid of the programs noted..and I have not had (knock on wood) any virus or Malware...
the time to monitor these is minuscule...You couldn't pay me enough to put any of the 1st three on a machine of mine again...

RE: Wife looking to Upgrade "AGAIN"

So I guess no one has personal experience with either the Samsung Galaxy or the Razr?
My wife has read a lot of the reviews, but feels many are done by the young techies, and not someone in our age group...and finds that sometimes makes a diffeerence..

RE: Wife looking to Upgrade "AGAIN"

Raze negatives, battery is not removable and not yet on ICS. Nexus has ICS and removable battery. However it does not appear to be as rugged, and may be broken easily. I am waiting on the Droid 4. Chris
By ICS, I assume you mean Internet connection sharing..do you then mean razr doesn't have hotspot or??

Wife looking to Upgrade "AGAIN"

She currently has the Thunderbolt which in my opinion is a great phone for traveling with eg: 4G, etc., but since I am on the receiving end of calls I think it is a poor phone because of the sound quality.
Anyway she is looking at Samsung galaxy nexus vs. the droid Razer, and she wanted me to get some feedback from any of you that have used either of these..
OOOP's...she just walked in while I was tying this and said she may look at the Razr Maxx as well...
Me things she is putting us in the cell phone poor house :E

RE: Rooted my Droid / Custom

Well, I thought, that is a good way to connect our WiFi only Kindles to the network. HOWEVER, the Kindles will not work with the Droid hotspot because of the way the Droid handles the connection. I confirmed this on the Droid forum after trying a couple different hotspot apps from the market.
Chris
Can you not download Kindle content to the laptop and transfer it to the Kindle? I don't know for sure but I thought you could. I know I can with library books.
My wife has the Thunderbolt and we have used both the Verizon hotspot as well as Pdanet and connectify to download books from Amazon and the Library...I would think that since the OS is virtually the same, there would not be an issue
