RE: Decent Locks?

Do these 30 - 40 footers get stolen a lot where you need a pin lock? I wouldn't think any run of the mill scumbag thief would have the tow vehicle needed to snag them - it would have to be someone that knows how these things work with the hitch, landing gear, etc. But I guess if the trailer is being stored where it's easy to get to that would enhance the chances for theft. IMO a pin lock might be good for piece of mind but I'm more worried about the gas in both tanks being siphoned out and it being broken into.

RE: XPS tire size

Can only find the XPS Rib in the 235/85R16 size, which is an inch larger diameter, which leads me to believe they will rub, particularly when they flex any when you hit a hole at, say, a bridge approach. My OEM tire is TowMax 235/80/r16. THX in advance. I had 235/80R16 factory China bombs on my triple axle KZ Inferno and changed out to the 235/85R16 XPS Ribs in March. I have three trips to Glamis on them since and have had no clearance issues between axles.

RE: Bias or radial?

Just get 16" LT tires and be done. ^^^ what linc said - I am getting a pretty good deal, I think. 190 each for new tire and wheel. Tire and wheel for $190? Not sure I'd expect much in the way of a quality tire or wheel for that price - JMO If you're moving to a 16" rim, go to an LT tire and be done. I'm of the opinion tires are not the place to be frugal. One nasty blowout can have you spending almost as much as the total you're looking at just for the insurance deductible to repair the damage. Kudos for going in the right direction with your tires and wheels though. Peace of mind while you're towing is priceless... Oh, and make sure your new wheels are rated for the air pressures associated with E rated tires (80-110 PSI depending on the tires you get).

RE: Can you lift a toyhauler safely? Tire problems

Just did an axle flip on my Inferno to lift/level and it was the single best mod I have done to date. Everything is better - it's level now instead of being nose high, more tire clearance and less tail dragging on steep entrances and exits. The only negative is it's tall, but it tows like a dream - no bad effects from the lift.

RE: Air king pin

TrailAir pin box here too (as well as the TrailAir suspension) - great product, fantastic ride and of course adjustable pin box with air pressure for what you are or are not hauling. Considered by many to be an "option" - it's mandatory for me.

RE: Roof ladder when camping ????

I never take my ladder off except to detail the TH. Besides, I think my truck mirrors when fully extended are wider than my TH with the ladder attached - but never officially measured it.

RE: Toy Hauler Cover

Ive come to the conclusion that about 2 years is all Ill ever get on a cover in AZ no matter what I pay,,so I consider it a consumable item. At 400 bucks over 2 years thats 55cents a day. Give up a beer a day and that pays for the cover.SOOO Iget a new one. Much cheaper than storage, and Ican always borrow a beer from my neighbor.... You're right on - it's a consumable item in Arizona. I cover mine and replace it as needed. My hauler looks as good as the day I bought it, but the uncovered ones in the lot around mine look like junk. Besides, like Archy Bunker used to say, "you don't buy beer - you rent it".

RE: covering a big boy

I have a 3905 Inferno (actually about 41') and use the biggest cover ADCO makes and it fits fine. Like some said, the covers don't last but I've had mine a year now and am going to replace it. They go for a little under $400 when you buy them at the right time. The way I look at it that's only $33 bucks a month to keep my rig protected from the elements - I consider it a disposable item. Sure it takes time to put on, don't do it in the wind and sometimes it's not fun, but it takes time to do lots of things right and keeping my TH looking as good as new is worth it to me. Like I said, it has lasted for just over a year in the brutal Arizona sun, the record number of dust storms we've had this year and the wind and rain associated with them. BTW, covered storage isn't always a perfect solution either because birds, critters and bugs like building their homes in the nooks, crannies and vents of your hauler when it's in the shade too. Plus, it's constantly getting covered with dirt, pollen and anything else blowing in the wind. But to each their own - just sharing my experience.
