RE: Water pump trouble

Those pumps are tough.I ran mine dry for about 30 min once by accident.Never hurt it one bit.

RE: bearings question

SAFETY NOTE: While towing, hand check the temperature of wheel hubs at every stop. I always do a walk-around to check tires, hubs, lugnuts, and hitch. You got it out before me.I do that very same thing when traveling, I use the back of my hand to feel for heat..

RE: bearings question

I do my own as well.We only do one or two long hauls per year.Mainly 1 or 2 hour trips.Every other year is plenty for us.I also carry bearings ,races, seals, grease ,tools and so on,just in case..

RE: Bunk fabric in rain

I too have packed up wet.As soon as I get home I open up (rain or shine).Sometimes there will be leaves or pine needles they will leave a stain in left for long.

RE: Changing a tire

Yep Me too! I carry a small scizzor jack.Mine has gear reduction.I just cant justify carrying one of those ramps around. They take up too much space.

Wind damage and rubber roof question

Well it finally happened to me,I have a 2010 jayco 23-J and just came back from a week off.My canvass ends and awnings were very dusty and dirty from the trees and gravel dust.I washed them all and left the awning out to dry .I left for work with blue skies, but came home after the storm quickly moved in.I was too late. The awning is trashed and the arm was ripped off and lying on the roof. I found a tear in the rubber roof!I,m just about sick to my stomach, but my dealer tells me not to worry everything will be OK.I do have insurance with a very reasonable deductable.I,m confident the awning replacement will go well, but I dont know about the roof.I dont know if they are planning on replacing the whole roof,or patching it.Which leads me to my next question. Is a dealer installed roof as good as factory? would it be better just to patch the factory roof? Any opinions greatly apreciated..
