RE: Sewer line discharge

I put on a 10 foot extension and leave it connected. I then attach my regular sewer hose to the end of the extension when I hook up. That way I'm not pulling the hose through the hole... and by not disconnecting inside the wet compartment no nasty mess to wipe up... since I had it... I put a clear spacer in-between to see how effective my cleaning has been..

RE: Alaska Mosquitos

Permethrin can be found online by sawyer and sometimes Walmart (permethone?) . Only effective on clothing (read doesn't work on skin - we break it down almost instantly) . Millitary testing a 1000 bite per hour environment when used with deet (off) on exposed skin decreased it to 1 bite per hour ... treated clothing lasts 1 month even with washing .... very toxic to fish & cats when wet.. very toxic to bees when dry... mosquitoes die on contact and will leave an area where it is ... ticks die after 6 inches of crawling .. farmers use it to flea dip sheep and dogs ... and to treat barns... some dog flea drops use this or a derivative also known as pymethrin

RE: How do you sanitize tanks in spring?

I've not heard of off gassing of di-chlor ... if possible provide links... my quick internet search could not find... it's not that I doubt you... I just want to be sure

RE: How do you sanitize tanks in spring?

1 teaspoon of sodium di-chlor & fill fresh tank ... run each faucet til you smell bleach let sit overnight flush ... sodium di-chlor is found at pool shops ... it's a powdered (stabilized) chlorine... and if you search far enough it's used by campers to sterilize lake / river water for drinking

RE: 30 amp at home hookup?

Another advantage of using 6 - 4 is on the main panel you can use a 60 amp breaker and in the sub panel a 50 amp

RE: I tried several gas savings devices! Suprise Review....!

Had a mechanic friend who bypassed the signal from his o2 sensor and the mass air flow sensor and with a monitoring device could specifically dial his fuel air mixture .. needless to say it was an older car .... but he did double his mileage

RE: 30A plug heat

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't plugging a 30 amp cord into a 50 amp plug inherently dangerous ? I understand it maybe a rare occurrence ... but if a short occurred before the main breaker in the RV and caused your 30 amp wire to draw 40 amps it could melt the wire without popping the 50 amp breaker...

RE: My kid sprayed OFF (insect repellant) on plexi-glass door

They make plastic polish for jeep windows it's a 2 or 3 step process.. check 4wd.com or summit racing... if you have scratches.. another trick is to use pledge furniture wax .. it fills in the small scratches works great but has to be reapplied every so often

adding an inverter where is yours?

I have a portable inverter and i'm thinking about adding it to my class a ... it's a 500 watt Inverter so this is not something I would think to power my whole coach but just to have a working plug when not connected or on generator power... has anyone done this? Where did you put it? How did it look? I don't know if I want to make it a permanent hook up or just hook it up on a need to use basis... which would mean running the wire into the battery box when in use ... any thought or experience is welcome thanks -dave

RE: 2011 Dodge Ram 4X4 as a dingy?

I have a coachmen mirada 32ds it weighs empty 20500 pounds the towing combinded weight is 26000 pounds .... my dodge ram 4x4 club cab is 7000 pounds... that puts it over limit i don't think your empty weight is 20,500-lbs. i believe that's your GVWR. the GVWR is the maximum total weight the chassis can support. we have the Ford F53 chassis with the same specs. You're right dry weight around 17,000.... thanks
