RE: White gravy for breakfast biscuits?
I like to fry up some Jimmy Dean Hot sausage. Makes for a spicier gravy. Do not drain the grease off (add a little butter if you need more grease). Then sprinkle the meat and grease with "Wonder Flour" coating well. Wonder Flour is made for gravy and doesn't lump up like regular flour does. Brown flour slightly.
For a richer flavor I use half and half for the gravy. Slowly pour in the half and half a little at a time, stirring well. Keep adding the half and half until the gravy is the consistency you like. Season with black pepper (I like lots of pepper).
Pour over fresh homemade biscuits!

RE: Charcoal vs. Propane
We prefer to cook over charcoal, the flavor is much better than gas.
However, we camp often with a small group of friends who all have Baby Q gas grills. They would all say let's eat and everyone would fire up their grills. When our coals were ready to cook on, they'd all be sitting down to eat. We ended up getting a Baby Q too.

Keith & Tracey, it seems that no one coming to SAL Feb. 2012 checks in here on RV.net much.
We do have a nice group of people coming to SAL though and we are looking forward to seeing everyone. We look forward to seeing you guys too. It's been a long, long time!

Happy New Year Everyone! Hope you all had a good one. We celebrated with a small group of RV friends at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort. Spent 4 whole days relaxing and enjoying the redwoods. It was awesome! Weather was nippy at night, but beautiful during the day.
I go back to work today. Working 4 hours a day for the first 2 weeks, then back to full time. I have yet to receive a disability payment from the state of California! They have my records screwed up.

I have cooked a turkey in the RV oven several timesin a cooking bag. I bought about a 10-12 lb turkey and had the butcher cut it in half while it was still frozen. Defrost one half and freeze the other or
have someone else in the group cook the other half in their RV oven.
Follow the instructions on the cooking bag and your bird will brown and turn out perfect!
I place the bagged bird in an oblong dish in the RV oven on top of an air bake cookie sheet to prevent burning on the bottom.

Whipped Cream Recipe Wanted
I have some heavy whipping cream left over from another recipe. I want to make whipped cream out it. Please share your favorite whipped cream recipe.
How long will it keep in the refrigerator? Can I make it a few days ahead of time?

I found the recipe on the Pillsbury website. They actually give instructions to make these cookies using their refrigerated cookie dough. I made my own dough, but either way, they are really cute.
You can find other quick holiday cookies using the store bought dough on their website.
