RE: Canadians travelling in U.S. & Canada - Internet Question

If you have wifi access, you have lots of options, Skype, Magic Jack, even Google is offering free N. America phone service using your laptop.

RE: vegatable oil in to diesel

I've been using the dieselsecret method for 5 years on my 1996 Dodge 5.9L Cummins with no problems, using recycled canola oil. NOTE: Not all engines will run smoothly on french fry oil, but the early model Cummins, TDI volkswagons, and Mercedes seem to love this stuff. Check out www.dieselsecret.com and listen to the audio interview, yes, Chuck is a friend of mine. I've had no problem with suppliers (chip trucks, restaurants). Here's a link to my refinery My Lab

RE: Electric fireplace

Thanks for the replies, found one on Ebay that we like. Also found a web site with the rough-in measurements while we're waiting for it's arrival.

Electric fireplace

We have a cupboard (28"wide x 20"high) under our TV that I want to install an electric fireplace into. Looking for recommendations as far as manufacturers. Would want a unit that comes with a trim plate. Thanks.

RE: easy inexpensive way to aim standard sat. dish

Just bought one on Ebay, $4.49. Batteries on my Digisat Sat finder went dead years ago. This will work perfect. Thanks for the post.:)

RE: 4000/3500 watt champion generator

After reading your post again, you bought this used. Per chance are you close to the previous owner or far away and at a different altitude. The jets might have been replaced for his altitude, not yours, happens a lot. Just a thought, but it is important. The previous post clued me in when he said he did a little drilling on his Coleman, changing the jet would have the same effect.

RE: Install a regular toilet?

A friend of mine did this on his Golden Falcon 5er, kept the tank, kept everything, is always in a serviced park, so water was not a problem. Only thing he never considered is the flush toilet sits a little bit farther away from the wall because of the tank, so he has to keep the door open. But it's OK, he's single.

RE: Help fixing large hole in rubber roof

Had a hole in our roof when a tree came down, but it did not puncture the ceiling. Make a Dutchman using same thickness of plywood. Secure it using 4 strips of wood around the edges of the hole you have cut out square. cover it with roof repair material, apply the self leveling caulk, thats it, took about 1/2 hour.

RE: Ice maker removal, need help

Oh well, another one bites the dust. Why do they even bother. Me and everyone I've known with a fridge that makes ice has had problems. Buy an ice maker at Wallyworld. Sorry I can't help you with your problem, just giving you a alternative.

RE: CareFree Awning

I tightened my springs on my prev MH by removing the arms from the bottom attachment and rotating them one turn in the proper direction to tighten the spring. Worked very well and no danger of the spring causing me great bodily harm :) That works, less time consuming, much safer as well, especially if you're not replacing the fabric.

RE: Plastic storage box for rear bumper on a Jayco 5th wheel

Assuming the nuts for the U bolts are going to be on the inside of the box, install 1/8" steel or alumium about 6" long by 2" wide to take the flex out of the plastic and really secure it. Don't rely on the washers. I did mine using pieces of plywood, that works too. Don't forget a lock... deters inquisitive eyes, but you already knew that.

RE: Newbie Honda 2000 owner experience

We have the Yamaha 2000... Yammy/Honda doesn't matter, neighbours love them. Yeah, they are pricey but you get what you pay for.

RE: 4000/3500 watt champion generator

If it is an ethanol problem or even if it's not, use premium gasoline, not regular. This comes from a small engine mechanic friend of mine.

RE: Can you repair a crack in a black water tank?

Just finished putting on a fiberglass patch on my black water tank, was cracked under the outlet before the gate valve.. not a fun job, but the fiberglass repair kit worked perfect, plus gave added strength to the tank. Use more matte than you think you need, you only want to do this once.

RE: RV satellite reciever hookup

Run a temp cable from the receiver to the Wingard. This can just be run out the door of the trailer. This will determine if you have a cable problem. From your description it sounds like a cable problem to me. This is the best answer you've received so far ! Your receiver works in the house, doesn't work in the RV. The LNB needs 13-18 volts DC to operate. If you have more than 1 TV in your RV then you are probably back-feeding through a splitter which has a diode in it and will not allow the 13-18v to pass back to the LNB. Also, are you 100% sure it's connected to the right coax ? Just noticed something in your original post about the video switch. Bypass that switch, in other words take off the Sat in coax and run it directly to your receiver, bet it works.
