RE: Best used age?

For RV's with the E series Ford chassis, 2005+ has the extra gear tow-haul plus other improvements over the earlier engine/transmissions. That makes it a good "boundary" for picking used class C's. Jack in Reno

RE: Wal-Mart deep cycle RV/Marine batteries

You are correct. You want two 6V golf cart batteries or one or more 12V flooded cell deep discharge batteries. If you have room for two, the golf cart battery is the way to go. I replaced my Trojans last year with golf cart ones from Costco at half the price. The weight and ratings were similar. FWIW: Jack in Reno

Tow Car Clear Bra

Have members of this group used a mylar/polyester film clear bra on the front of their toad? I am considering it for my '11 CRV. I recall there were some issues a few years ago about them yellowing, esp on the front of RVs. Jack in Reno

RE: We were fortunate...check the base plate bolts!

We nearly lost our 01 Forrester in Deming, NM last spring. I found only one bolt on each side still connected of our Blue Ox baseplate. The whole assembly moved when I went to plug in the brake light connector. It was repaired by making backing plates with nuts tack welded to them. It had been towed about 40K miles. Now have a '11 CRV. Nearly all vehicles today have unibody construction so there are few hard points for mounting and for safety chains. I guess the message is to check the baseplate for motion every time you connect. Jack in Reno

RE: What is the best towbar for a 2011 Honda CRV

We recently bought a 2011 CRV. I had the Blue Ox base plate installed. We have an older Aventa aluminum tow bar which works just fine. In the 2011 base plate kit, there are two removable tow points that if you remove them you really can't see the tow gear. FWIW: Jack in windy Reno

RE: Touring When Weather Turns Bad

When we camped in Oklahoma City, the RV park showed us the location of the storm cellar just in case! Jack in windy Reno

RE: Anyone have one of the new electric cars as a toad?

So my decision to buy a Saturn was a good one?
