RE: Progressive Does it Again

Shopping around is good practice because companies/underwriters move in and out of various markets and from time to time may want to limit liability for any number of reasons.
Nothing personal. Its just bidness...

RE: Upgrading to a Tag!

Well, you are getting two "must have" items in your new MH. That is, Aqua Hot & a Jake.
Six slides would be nice too, but some sacrifices may be necessary.
Congrats & Good Luck

RE: Which to buy in Class A DP

We are shopping for a DP and would not consider anything under 350 HP.400+ is preferable.
Not only for the power but for a Jake compression brake which for me would be a deal breaker. If it doesn't have a Jake, I'm not buying.

RE: Dometic 630515 Heat Pump fan Problem

For spares, review requirements HERE concerning voltage. MFD or uf capabilities can usually be found on the can itself, so check what you have.
Good luck

RE: A/C

I have always heard it was a no no and that the A/C unit draws more amperage than most home wall outlets can provide. I heard this causes the A/C to work much harder than it needs to POSSIBLY leading to premature failure. I have no real first hand knowledge on this...... just what I have always heard.
The A/C will not work harder. If there is enough amperage to run it you will be fine. If there isn't enough it will blow a circuit breaker. I'd say try it and see what happens.
B.O.
I got my info from sites such as this..... http://www.twolanelivin.com/index.php/the-rv-ac/
Either they are wrong or you are wrong I am not so sure I am willing to risk my A/C unit to find who is right. No dis respect intended by the way. I have just heard both views way to many times to make me feel comfortable which answer is correct.B.O. Plenty is correct. You'll likely trip a breaker trying to start an AC on a 15 amp house circuit. Thats what the breaker is there for - to prevent damage. The reference you provided is written in layman terms designed for those with least knowledge, but it does get the point across to have adequate voltage.

RE: RV Beginner

My question is which of these are high quality, built with better materials eg steel frames, better insulation, quality workmanship High quality won't exist in a 30' Class A. Quality starts at around 40'.
Haven't heard of a Safari Trek, have you?See what RVNet has to say about the Safari Trek.

RE: Is RV toilet paper really necessary?

Learned this from a boater friend. We keep a lided waste basket next to
the toilet with a plastic bag in it. All TP goes into the bag and the bag
is changed each day. Have only put TP in toilet by accident. Never had
a problem and you can use triple thick TP if you choose!Haven't you noticed that all boating people drink far too much.
Sheesh...... I'd never take advice from a 'boater'. :S
