RE: Funeral Edict?

First hand experience. My oldest son passed away on January 2 of this year. One of the things I have a vivid memory of is all the traffic, strangers, who did not know us or our son stopping as we carried him to his last resting place. Thank you all for this sign of respect.

Level Up can be installed anytime. I have a list of 12 Certified Dealers including Lippert who will install as aftermarket.

RE: Front seems like it is drifting, went to CAT scales

Just for information check distances on your axles. Friend of mine had issues with drifting, tire wear, etc. After all was said and done the axles were found to be out of square 1/2". One went one way and the other went the other way. Just a thought.

Level Up, 6 point RV leveling system.

Looking to purchase a TH in the next few weeks. Would like to have the "Level Up" system installed. Anyone have any 1'st hand experience with this leveling system? Factory or dealer installed? Any help please.

RE: Movin on Up

So far, so good. Only issue I have is it is too quiet. After the F250 / 6.0L this sounds like a hybrid / electric. It will put you back in the seat tho.

RE: Looking for 1'st hand info on Boat-n-Rv.

Probably will. Looked real good at the Raptors on site. The manufacture is sure cutting costs, Ex: doors for both propane storage compartments are just the thin plastic coating other manufactures laminate with insulating material inside.

RE: Movin on Up

Congrats! Glad to see someone not afraid to buy the big Ford. Let us know how it works out. Pics maybe?
Not afraid of Ford. You put your money down and take your chances with any brand, Ford / Dodge / Chevrolet / etc. What sold me is their service department. They actually have diesel mechanics that know what they are doing. Have been dealing with them for 30yrs. Try to find mechanics that actually are mechanics. Went to a Chevrolet dealer to have work done. Talked with the mechanic and told him I was lost on these new engines. Asked him what the unit was I was pointing to on the engine, told me he did not know but could find out. Haven't been back.

Movin on Up

Well we did it. Just took delivery of a 2012 F450 6.7L CC XL, dark blue pearl metallic 4x4, 6spd auto w/shift on the fly, camper package, 5'th wheel prep with hitch & gooseneck, dual alternators, supplemental heat, block heater, engine idle shutdown, roll up tonneau cover, etc., etc. etc. Quite an upgrade from our 07' 6.0L. Only complaint right now is it is too quiet. Used to that diesel music. next step, upgrade from our 30' TT to 40' TH. Salesmen/women here we come.
Yep. went with the XL. Only way to get the rubber floor. Carpet does not mix well with mud, sand & other crap. :B

RE: Vinyl wheel covers really prevent/reduce sidewall cracking?

Didn't cover mine on the TT and they cracked along with the spare that was never used and completely covered. Makes a difference, who knows. I am willing to spend a little on covers to hopefully prevent cracking and associated major cost.

RE: buying a fifth wheel should be like buying a car

Looked at a "Used" 2011 Hartland Toy Hauler. Dealer said if we purchased it prior to leaving the clean-up bay they would give us a discount. Glad we looked at it prior to cleaning. You get a real good idea how it has been used / abused. For a year old unit it was beat. All tanks were still full, wear trails in the carpet, refrig smelled bad, drawer below fridge smelt worse (something dead) piles & piles of mouse / rat droppings in the water access compartment. Even the fueling station was full of sand and trash. Needless to say we did not purchase even tho the salesman said they would make it right and give us a good deal. Yea right. Looking prior to cleaning is best I think.

My memory of Stinkys is different than your's. All I can remember is small portions and a high price. Try the Donut Hole.

RE: Battery Powered Fan?

What about something like the Ryobi battery powered fan that uses cordless tool batteries? It only makes a lot of sense if you already have Ryobi cordless batteries.
Got two of these, work great. Keep extra batteries as spares.

RE: bunkhouse or NO bunkhouse?

I agree with the "Toy Hauler" idea. Two queen beds, one converts into two couches. Plenty of storage. Some have a half bath, refridge and television. After they are gone it can convert into anything we need. Exercise room, laundry, etc. or are you ready, a garage.

RE: F450 TC towing a 30' TT?

Appreciate all the suggestions. Been looking for over a month now. Need to get the truck and get this buying spree moving to a conclusion. Reason i was considering a TC was the multiple use, camping / Dollywood rest area / etc. Agree a 5'th wheel toy hauler is probably the way to go.
