RE: Seems like rv.net has gone downhill

There's certain posters that always try to be "funny", rarely are. Other posters post just to say something, even if it doesn't add to the conversation. And the "use the search feature" crowd always adds their 2 cents. Like the OP, I didn't visit the forum for a while after I sold my trailer. What I noticed was the same people posting in the same way as before - some helpful, others not so much. Still the best place on the net for RV info.

RE: A valid reason for unhooking from TV upon arrival at camp

I just don't get it, why the "Do what I do" posts. Sorry about your bad experience and now it seems you have figured out what you need to do in the future. Good of you to share and point out what some people may of not considered. But quit trying to convince us to do it your way. To Each His Own? What works for you, may not work for me. The OP closes his post with "just a thought". How in the world do you get that he's telling you to "do what I do"? :h

RE: Potty Question

Gross is using someone else's toilet and shower vs. my own. What did/do you do while at work? Hold it all day long? Did you play sports in high school or college? Guess you went home w/o taking a shower. Now that's gross....

RE: First Come First Serve Campsites

I am a planner with a touch of OCD. Not only do I make reservations but we go on 'dry runs' to unfamilar campgrounds with just the car and a camera and scope out spots we like so we know which ones to request. Call me nuts, but less stress works for me.Wow I thought I was the only one... :)I'm in the club too.

RE: New to seasonal camping - looking for tips

This topic has been covered many times - frankly, many good ideas won't get posted again because the posters won't keep replying to the same quetions. Do a search here on the forum. Of course, this problem applies to ALL TOPICS. People should search first - ask later. There's a lot of great, tried-and-true responses in earlier posts and replies. While searching is a good idea I don't think you should dissuade someone from asking a question just because it may have been asked before. Feel free to skip over a post if it seems redundant to you.

RE: Plumbing question?

My guess would be low point drains also. For what it's worth, the drains on my TowLite were under the "sofa", no where near the furnace or water pump.

Howdy stotacouple! We're practically neighbors. Have friends with a camp on Oneida. Sounds like you have a great set-up. Sorry, can't offer any advice on your quest. Just wanted to say "Hi". :B

RE: Would you leave RV.NET if you had no RV?

Sold the RV a few years back due to health. Still visit, just not as often. Still get bit by the camping bug, especially this time of year.

RE: Opps...

There was a blurb recently in the local paper. Man stopped to pet a police dog. Dog "hit" on him for dope. Cops arrested him on the spot & found him in possession of some "wacky tobaccy". :B

RE: Bigger Bathroom (shower or tub)

There are Yahoo! Groups for both Hi-Lo & TrailManor. I used to post about HL's on the TM Group & vice-versa. Used to drive some people nuts, especially the HL people (note that I owned a HL). Some of them really felt insecure, like their choice of RV was being "attacked" since someone wrote something positive about a competitor. Pretty funny. IMO, it's a sad day when any RV company closes up shop. Not sure why some of you would be happy about that, even if you thought they were inferior products. What difference is it to you if someone likes something you don't? To the OP - sorry, no bathroom advice for you.

RE: Heimlich Maneuver

I choked on a piece of cold hamburger one time. I was in the kitchen, DW in the den. I POUNDED loudly on the countertop - don't know why, just panicked. DW recognized it as not normal, came running, did the Heimlich & here I am. She didn't have any formal training, just what she had read over the years. Knowing First Aid is a very good thing. I hope I'm never in a situation to have to do it (although I did pull a young girl out of a pool once - managed to do it before she got into serious trouble - just a bit of a drink).

RE: Freshwater hose storage ideas

Could cut it in half and install new ends (brass one...not those cheap plastic junk). Two 25' hoses are easier to coil up/stow. Plus usually only need one to hook up water.I did this with a slight modification. Instead of cutting it in half I did 1/3 and 2/3. I kept them coiled in a bucket & stored it under the dinette.
