RE: Personal Question $$$

Paid around $20k last year, but they gave me $12.5k for my trade in. So I paid off the balance and now I'm paying myself back with 6% interest. Don't know what it's worth and at the moment don't care!

RE: Huntington Beach Weather

One can never say what the weather will be like 6 months from now. But this is SoCal the weather is always nice. Any spot at Bolsa Chica is nice. Hook up are wtr & elec only, there is a dump station near by. It does gets breezy in the evenings. Huntington Beach has a campground right by the pier on the beach with full hook ups. Its a city campground just like Bolsa Chica.

RE: Storage Solutions

We use these in every cupboard: pantry, food, towels... no more 'spills' during transit and they make packing and unpacking so easy. http://jtote.com/images/7/c/2/7c25dceb4ae036bf9e9887f3a51fd8a0.jpg height=350

RE: leaky window>>>

I would check the weep holes on the bottom of the window frame, make sure they are clean of debris and make sure the rubber window track is not blocking them.

RE: Hitch-mounted bike carriers

I got a 4 bike carrier made by Graber. We use it everytime we go anywhere. It bounces very little. I can't even tell it's back there. We carry 3 Beach Crusiers and 1 BMX bike.

RE: SCal Fishing CampGrounds?

We just got back from a fishing trip to Santee Lakes in S.D. Fishing is good, but they don't allow you to take your own boat. There is 7 lakes and they do require you to purchase a permit, $9 for an adult, $6 for kids, but nobody ever checked the permits an I'm sure most people don't have them. We were camped 10' from the lake and fished most of the time. We thought about the overnight fishing at (SARL) Santa Ana River Lakes but never really had much luck there and for $60, and the hours only from 5pm-12am, I would rather go back to Santee.

Gas Tank Full... but gauge reads Empty ???

Getting ready for a long weekend trip. Started up the engine and noticied the gas gauge on E and the low fuel light on. My first thought was that some SOB siphoned my gas, After checking the tank an other areas and findings no signs of foul play... OK did I gas up after my last trip? I always do... So I drove to the gas station and fueled up. It only took 2 gal. as I was driving home my gas gauge started to move up slowly almost made it to 3/4 tank, before I shut engine off. I'm Stumped! Has anyone ever had this problem? Any idea's ???

RE: Boondocking Near Yosemite?

We contacted the Chukchansi Casino and they do allow overnight parking (must be self contained). Not sure how far the Casino is from the gate??? We will probably arrive in the area in the late evening so, we're hoping to find something close to the highway and not far from the gate if possible.

RE: Parking at the beach

As long as your not cutting accross any red zones you can do that. If your talking about local beaches like H.B. street parking thats metered, no problem. The parking lots maybe a different story.

RE: Going from a analog tv to a lcd tv....

I personally, took mine out, made a door to cover the opening and mounted the TV to the door. Lots of nice storage behind there. @ Lynndiwagon: Sounds like we both did the same mod :) We did both TV's, at the front cabover and in the rear bedroom. Front at the cabover: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-q9c3GBikVxU/Tydk9AiO0wI/AAAAAAAAALQ/MiyAdUXnUMs/s800/IMAG1122.jpg width=350The TV/door open. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-cRmWVT_9au0/Tydk_R4cl9I/AAAAAAAAALY/SHm2piJM6Iw/s800/IMAG1121.jpg width=350The TV/door closed. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-5F_epAHK0xo/TydlAMnXT1I/AAAAAAAAALo/VRU-d4xYfqY/s800/IMAG1126.jpg width=350Great storage!!!

Boondocking Near Yosemite?

We were lucky enough to get Yosemite reservations for 6 nights in June. It's our first trip to Yosemite and we're taking our kids, 8 & 11 yrs old. We will be coming from Los Angeles, heading up through Fresno to the 41. We are thinking of heading out a day earlier to break up the drive and finding a place to boondock or stay overnight and head into Yosemite first thing in the morning. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of anywhere to stay overnight along the way?

RE: Best route to Big Bear Lake in summer

38 from Mentone is a nice drive though longer and higher, but far less stressful. I wouldn't even consider pulling an rv to BB any way but up 38 from Mentone. I agree. 38 is the best and easiest route to Big Bear with any kind of RV.

Struggling with Under Bed Storage...

We're having trouble accessing our under bed storage. Only the front half of the under bed storage compartment lifts up. The thick mattress does not 'bend' in the middle and 'fights' with us when we try to lift it. We know at one time there were probably struts but they are not there. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem and what anyone has done to make the under bed storage easier to get to. Thanks

RE: TV's

Just finished my tv mods & i'm really happy with both of them. Originally, we had older TVs inside the cupboards -they took up the whole thing, barely space for the remote control. Both mods, I removed the cupboard door(s) & built an angled panel, added a piano hinge, and I mounted the tv(s) directly on it. Nice thing is the cupboard(s) still opens as normal and we gained alot more space. RE: Trip to Washington DC

Anytime we visted Washington DC we stayed in Virginia and took the metro train. I would sugest calling your local State Representative and let them know the dates you will be visting and what you would like to see. There office will arrange a special White House tour, FBI Tour etc... We have always done this before going to Washington DC. Lots of walking, Wear comfy shoes.
