RE: Solenoid testing

Here is the link to the wiring diagrams for youir Winne. There are two solenoids used on Winnebagos. One to turn the house batteries on and off and the other to charge the house batteries while driving and the boost start. The battery on/off is a dual coil latching solenoid and the voltage applied is momentary to latch or release the contacts.

RE: Tow Dolly and Chevrolet Tahoe?

Be safe. Disconnect the rear driveshaft. Removing four bolts is cheaper and easier than replacing a transmission or transfer case.

RE: Personal Question $$$

Financed mine 7 years ago. Paid it along with the rest of my vehicles off last year when i retired from my job. Took half the pension in cash and paid the vehicles and several other things off along with putting a nice little amount in the bank. Still have my 401K and get a monthly pension check. RV still worth around $8,000-10,000 depending on who is buying.

Did you keep them? How did you cook them up? Haven't been up North trout fishing in over 40 years. They look beautiful.

RE: Steps not working...what do I check?

Here is the link to the Winnebago manuals. It may tell you in the operators manual. Good idea to download all the manuals for your RV, then you can troubleshoot most problems yourself.

RE: Exterior Shower

I tried using mine, but everyone in the park started complaining.
Seems no one wanted to see an overweight, 60 year old man showering outside naked.
:)
Now i just use it for the dog and my feet before coming in after running around on the beach. I now wear my speedo :)

RE: THE UGLY

Just drive the RV into the river.
You will no longer have:
1. The GOOD--you day is now ruined.
2. The BAD-- the bear spray will be gone.
3. The UGLY--no more bugs on the front of the RV.

RE: Steps not working...what do I check?

Check near the bottom of the screen door there should be a magnetic switch mounted on the door frame and a magnet mounted on the door. You may have lost the magnet.

Is that copper color round piece to the right of the crank a button? Try pushing it in and pulling on the crank.

RE: Air Conditioning Trouble

Do you have a voltmeter? If not, get one and learn how to use it. To help you troubleshoot the problem we will be asking what the voltage reading are on several items.
1. With the trailer unplugged from shore power, what is the voltage reading on your battery?
2. With the trailer plugged into shore power and all circuit breakers on, what is the voltage across the battery?
3. Do any of the interior lights come on?
4. Is your A/C thermostat on the wall or are all the controls on the A/C unit itself?

RE: Going from Colorado Springs to Los Vegas

You won't be coming up to hills in Colorado, you will be coming up to mountians. The Rocky mountians, Colorado Springs is at the foot of the Rockys and is over 6000ft above sea level and then you have to climb.
When you leave the Springs just head South toward Albuquerque, NM and then West to Las Vegas.

RE: Replacing the truck due to cell phones

Doesn't California have a no cell phone law? So, i see a 45' diesel RV, and a brand new truck in your future. You and your lawyer stick her for everything you can. You do have witnesses, right? Don't forget get her cell phone records, that will prove she was yapping while driving.

As long as he is active duty, retired, DOD, dependent, reservist, etc. Just about anyone with a military ID and can get on base or post can use the facilities. They are normally controlled by the Services section(old name MWR Morale, welfare, Recreation).

RE: Air Conditioning Trouble

First question, was your brother-in-laws power outlet at the cabin a 30 amp jack?
Was it wired up for a dryer (220VAC) or for an RV (120VAC)?
After you plugged up were you able to use the stereo the whole time you were there or did it die right away?
What power supply unit are you talking about? The converter or something on the A/C unit itself?
