RE: Anyone know where to fill water up in Flagstaff, AZ

If it says it's for consumption thats the good stuff. What kind of water do you want? You may be able to get afluent at the waste treatment plant.
Couldn't resist.
That's funny! I had the same thought

RE: Anyone know where to fill water up in Flagstaff, AZ

There are two Giant gas stations in Flag that have free dump stations and free water. One is at 1205 S. Milton on the left hand side. Can't remember the cross street but it's just before the third stoplite.
The other is at 2300 E, Butler.
I wonder how crazy busy they will be over labor day weekend?

Awesome, that's what I was looking for. There's a pilot truck stop about 6 miles west on 40 that may have something too.

Anyone know where to fill water up in Flagstaff, AZ

Going to take the family up north over labor day. While my toy hauler is light for a toy hauler it still pulls hard loaded up with dirt bikes, gas and a full tank of water for the weekend with my Suburban. Especially when its 110 out and its pretty much all up hill to Flag from Phoenix. Does anyone know somewhere in Flagstaff you can fill up with water?

RE: 150k mile Cummins or Duramax

Old truck? Where did you mention that in the OP? Just because it has 100k doesn't mean it's going to be old. What years are you looking at? Your post lacks info on what exactly you're looking for.
I specifically mention 150k miles twice and that I couldn't afford a new truck on my budget. Granted 150k miles doesn't necessarily mean an "old truck." I guess I should have said a well used truck which to me, 150k miles is well used and not just broken in but then again, I haven't owned a diesel. Sorry for the lack of detail:)

RE: 150k mile Cummins or Duramax

....Not sure why GM keeps deciding to make changes mid-year -- seems like it would be a lot easier to do it at the beginning of a model year. But LB7/LLY, LLY/LBZ, and LBZ/LLM all share a common year of production for some reason. Not to mention a complete body/frame redesign from the GMT800 to GMT900 in MY2007. The LML seems to be the first year when they did't change horses mid-stream!
Typo there….it’s the LBZ/LMM.
Not sure on the first mid-year change to the LLYs (injectors maybe?), but the difference in the ’07 model year was due to emission rules ending the LSD engines with the cutoff date on 12-31-06, 01-01-07 ushered in the ULSD.
Also, there are some early 2011 models with the old LMM engine (non-DEF) too, so that one’s not out of the loop either.
There is not a 2011 with an LMM motor, where did you get this info?
Who cares! My original was about buying an old truck, not a
$60k 2011. Stay on topic, quit hijacking my post with pissing contests about who knows more about the model years. I want to know about problems or lack there of with 100,000+ mile rigs.

RE: 150k mile Cummins or Duramax

Lots of good info on here but who else besides Dr Baker has actual experience with this kind of mileage. Like I said I know diesels are supposed to go the distance but are they trouble free?

RE: 150k mile Cummins or Duramax

That is what I did. Cash for a used one seemed better than payments on a new one. I am happy with mine.
The above post was done from my campsite. I just got home with my 206,000 mile Duramax that I bought with over 150k on it.
There were lots of Duramax and Cummins trucks there (McGee Creek). I fit in just fine with the guys that paid $40-50k for their trucks. Mine was $7k, but it runs just as good as the others. I love the look and smell of a new truck, but just decided I'd rather save the money this time.
So what have you had to do to it so far maintenance wise?

RE: 150k mile Cummins or Duramax

Some good info. I've seen several trucks both Dodge and GM that have had new injectors put in them with just over 100k miles. Surely you should be able to get more life than that out of them.

150k mile Cummins or Duramax

I'd like to upgrade my tow vehicle to something with a little more power. Of course a diesel would be the way to go but I can't buy a new one on my budget. I've seen a couple of nice Dodge's that haven't towed anything but have a 150k miles on the clock. How crazy would it be to buy a used diesel with 150k miles on it if its been taken care of? I understand diesel engine's last, but what about the rest of the truck?
