I know you usually never hear the good side of things and I am very skeptical about having anyone else work on my vehicles. Do 90% of my own maint and repair.
Front end alignments and transmission rebuild are about all I will take to a shop.
I was relegated to having the clutch in my truck replaced by a shop as it went out right before the moving company packed up my tools!
First highly reccomended place I took it to in ANC was Hansen Transmission. While I'm sure they do good work judging by their backlog and reccomendations, they wanted an unreal amount of $ to RnR the trans. Like almost 4x as much as S&P Auto!
Plus they drove it and said it was fine??? Trust me the clutch was done! Wouldn't hold more than 3rd gear power with a mild tune on the truck.
Took it to S&P and they were great. It was a pain for them because I have an aftermarket clutch and they had to wait until I got the new one shipped plus hunt down some parts that are on back order most places.
Anyway great shop, highly reccomended!!
Plus I just got the bill and it was even less than I was quoted! And trust me, I would have paid more!
