A man had 50 yard-line tickets for the Super Bowl. As he sat down, he noticed the seat next to him was empty.
He asked the man on the other side of the empty seat whether anyone was sitting there.
"No", the man replied, "the seat is empty".
"This is incredible", said the first man. "Who would have a seat like this for the Super Bowl and not use it?"
The second man replied, "Well actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away unexpectedly. This will be the first Super Bowl we haven't been together since we got married in 1967".
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible, but couldn't you find someone else... a friend, relative, or even a neighbor to take the seat?"
The man shook his head "No, they're all at the funeral."

IBcarguy, back in the mid to late 1980's my daughter and I had a similar situation happen to us. My daughter was in junior high school and on the school's volleyball team. My daughter went to school one morning. Her team had a volleyball game that evening. After lunch that day my daughter had to leave school (I think it was for a dentist appointment). She didn't return to school that afternoon. That evening my daughter and I show up for the game. My daughter's coach walks up to her and ask her what my daughter and I are doing there. My daughter says to her coach; "I'm here to play coach". The coach with a questioning look on her face says: "I'm suprised your dad and you are here as I heard that the reason you left school after lunch was because your mother had just passed away."This is a true story. We are always kidding my wife that when she dies she knows what my daughter and I will be doing.

Remember the old joke? Died peacefully in his sleep not kicking and screaming like the other passengers in his car!!!

Is this another old one??

The doctor called his patient and said " Your test results came in and I've got bad news and worse news. You have a very rare infection and I'm afraid you've only got 24 hours to live."
After picking himself up off the floor, the patient says "Oh my God, what possibly could be worse news than that?"
The doctor says, "I forgot to call you yesterday."

I thought you were going to use the punch lines where the patient says he can't pay the doctor so they doctor gave him another two weeks to live till he could pay the bill.....
