Back from the dunes with a 500 mile trip logged on the new TH. Great trip with no major mechanical issues and I'm impressed with how this TH towed. Rolled over the scales on the way home with a trailer axle of 12600#, rear axle of truck 5900# (truck empty is about 3000# and I had a 400# quad in bed plus dog ,DW and 2 kids in the cab). We are coming from a 2002 TT so this thing is like a Cadillac to us LOL. I am surprised at how good it towed too with no sway issues (using an Equalizer 14000# hitch) and a smaller nose cone area compared to our other TT which was like towing a 10000# trailer but it was only 7700# loaded. Breaking was nice too with a much heavier trailer (2 6k axles). Minor repairs: We picked up this TH last minute before our dune trip so they were scrambling to get it ready for us and they were very accommodating. It failed a pressure test and they addressed the leak the next morning just to get us ready. The microwave is inop and there are the small little things like the toilet paper brackets are loose in the wall and one of the heat vents does not work but that's pretty much it. Impressed so far with this large RV dealer in Phoenix and hop they continue this while it goes in for some follow up. Edit: Completed my own 2 hour PDI and found some more stuff. Ripped awning at end of roll at seam, exposed plywood under the leading, front edge of trailer at subfloor, unsealed A/C ductwork inside air filter area, scuffed/ripped leather seats, one heat vent has no flow to it. Calling dealer tomorrow to see what's next?

My wife and I have looked at the Amped 28' numerous times. Cost is a factor but the real problem for us is how low the drains for the gray and black water set. Your picture really makes that stand out. We would be using the TT off the grid when hunting and fishing. How did the repairs go with the dealer? Tony

That drain line is something that I am going to fix. It is possible to move it up some. currently it is at the dealer and in the middle of having some warranty repairs done to it. Not too impressed with what I have seen with the quality of a normal production RV but I will find out how they go soon enough. Delivered to the dealer with a failed pressure test on the black and fresh water tanks, inop microwave, heat vent no flow, shower door water leak, gaps in A/c by filter area that need tape, poor carpet trim at stairs (fraying under tread) and a rip in the awning and exposed subfloor under entire front edge of RV behind LP tanks. In addition to that there are the other punch list items that they are going to fix. Obviously, the unit was not anywhere near 100% ready for any customer.

I do like the fact that compared to others at this price ($43k)this unit has 2 fuel tanks, electric stab jacks, extra large 4 bay battery compartment and especially the Z frame tech. that allows all of that storage space and the interior feel of a fifth wheel with the steps up into the bed room. Almost forgot, 174 gallons of fresh water is BIG for us b/c 99% of what we do is off the grid.

Thank you for the information. Lot of things for them to fix. 2013/2014 is the first year for Amped TT?

Your welcome! The big items are things that should not have been left the way they were when it was delivered to the dealer though.
