Just pass it on to another unsuspecting victim? It's a question only, and one that I have debated over the years participating in this forum.

Ya know... It is kinda funny. I was thinking the same exact thing. Cause someone will get this unit if I don't keep it. Right now as it stands I doubt I will keep it, one way or the other. It's going to be a factory refurbished, dealer demo unit, one time owner who decided he simply didn't want it or a repo. Take your pick.

I sort of suspect that even if they plated the RV in Gold, the OP will not be happy. I really cannot blame him. What a let down to spend that kind of money and end up with a problem RV. He will never feel confident with the RV again.

My advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

BINGO! Me and DW have pretty much given up. However, I do want to let every one know that camping world seems to be working with us. There is nothing set in stone yet. There might be some options on the table. I just wanted to go on the record with saying that. Will keep Y'all posted as to the next chapter in this fiasco.

I put a $7,000 downpayment on a '13 Palazzo 33.1 on a Friday phone call to CW, with the balance when the new unit arrived. They asked that I give them a cashiers check. I agreed but said it would be Monday before I could make the trip (100 miles round trip). Over the weekend I read many posts, here and other web sites. I decided not to buy a Thor product....taking the coach to northern Indiana for a slide repair (3,000 miles round trip) was not in the the cards.

I have had two Fleetwoods and one Winnebago over the last 30 years with few problems. I have never had a slide. Our present Bounder serves us well with plenty of room. I am looking at a 2014 Tifin Breeze 32BR. A friend has a '13 and brags on it. Anyway, I won't be getting a Thor.

No matter what unit you buy their will be some problems. Once all the bugs are worked things are good. anyone who says they never had a problem with their rig is b.sing

I agree. I had a list of more then 20 items that they have fixed. (Bugs worked out) [emoticon] But this slide issue is a major problem that is out of the norm. Even if they swap me out for another one, do I expect it to be error free? No. But I will not stand for a major structural or mechanical defect.

I think all of us to a certain extent have become lax to the RV industry. After all, these are luxury items for most, maybe a necessity for others. But this has made us settle and accept what they give us. I think this is one reason why the RV industry is so different in so many ways than other industries especially the auto industry. I know there are way more cars and trucks on the road than RV's, but still, that doesn't make it right.

Isn't funny how Americans are great consumers known for boycotting products and services, calling their local news channel hotline to resolve issues, posting on social networks like Facebook, but when it comes to our rvs, for some unknown reason, we let the industry get away with it. People try to stave off complaints by saying a motorhome is a complicated piece of machinery. I have a 24ft TT, we love the layout, couldn't be happier so far. It has its issues but in terms of construction, it's a piece of &^%#! Americans are famous for suing each other. Not sure why we don't go after the industry with personal or class action suits.

Just like the auto industry, no change will take place until foreign competition is allowed. I found a British motorhome manufacturer who crash tests their products. Let the Brits, Japanese and Chinese in and prices will come down and quality will go up.

Honestly, and I know some or most of you don't want to hear this but IMO the vast majority of RVers DO NOT have problems. That's why there are no class action lawsuits or any other general uproar over RV quality. One thing I've noticed on most forums is that people go to them to get a fix for a problem. Well guess what? If most of a forums userbase consists of people with minor to major problems, you'll get a skewed view of quality on ANY product. Not to say issues don't exist but I tend to put things in perspective. Now I'm a RV newb, my first one was a 5er from Keystone (supposed POS) and yeah it was low end but I only had one problem with it and that was the rear axle brake wire broke. My 09 MH's slide was out of alignment on the bottom by a 1/4" and that was easily fixed. That's it. There was no list of problems that needed to be fixed on either one and quite frankly I would NEVER accept anything with a "list of problems" no matter how minor. In closing, when I talk to owners that don't do forums, they're experiences are in direct contrast to what I read hear so I tend to go lean towards theirs and balance it with what I read here.

I agree. We have talked to a lot of people in the campgrounds about their experiences with dealers and manufacturers. When I bring up RV.net, most are like huh, what's that? You know, the Internet, oh yes that... I find it interesting too that the ones with the problems know all about RV.NET. [emoticon]
