Well I am completely confused. I have a rewards card I have had for years but today tried to get on the web site for the GS discount card. Web site is broken and in reading feedback, it appears it has been broken for 1-1/2 years. Is there any need to pursue this or should I just start fueling at Wal Mart. We are planning a 6000 mile trip in the spring and fuel discounts are important.

Hi mountainsam,

I'm not sure what site you're referring to that has been broken for some time. The GS discount card is the Good Sam Club membership card– we have a new Swipe & Save membership card offering instant discounts at Pilot Flying J. In order to receive the membership card, simply join Good Sam Club!

Sincerely,
Good Sam Club Team

Just wondering, my deluxe membership is good till 2015 and then my understanding is that as long as my coast to coast membership is paid up I will keep my GS membership but where does this leave me concerning my swipe and save card.

Hello jdfello,

As long as you have an active membership and a swipe n save card, you will continue to get the discounts. I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day!

Do I understand this correctly ? When using the " Swipe and Save " card
at the truck pumps , I must come inside the PFG truck stop first to scan card and prepay ?
If this is so, it is an inconvenience to make two trips inside . The RV Rewards card would act as a pump start card . Just requiring you to come inside when done fueling to pay. This is the same inconvenient system used by Loves , TA, and other major fuel retailers .
Make the swipe and save card a pump start card and save time at the pumps for the RV'ers and the truck drivers will have quicker access to the pumps too.

Good evening!

Just to clarify, the Good Sam Club Swipe & Save Membership card as well as all current and previous versions of the RV loyalty card no longer offer the "start the pump" feature. Unfortunately, this benefit was misused by some and so now, much like the RV and Auto lanes, payment authorization is required before fuel may be pumped.

That being said, the RV Plus Card not only lets you start the truck diesel pumps, but also lets you pay at the pump just like at the RV and Auto lanes, so no need to come inside at all. The RV Plus Card is without a doubt the best way to utilize our facilities, not to mention the major benefit of bigger discounts! Simply swipe your RV Plus Card, fuel, and you're on your way!

If you don't have an RV Plus Card, the best way to apply for one is online at www.rvpluscard.com or call 855-478-7587 to apply over the phone. The RV Plus Card also offers several other great benefits such as:
1 - No single transaction limit, fuel as much as you want with one swipe!
2 - Cash price on diesel fuel all of the time!
3 - Easy fuel at all lanes, simply insert the RV Plus Card and fuel!

I hope this helps and answers some of the questions below. Thanks and keep them coming!

Or you can simply just use the RV lanes. I've seen trucks and fifth wheels in them and I've pulled the TT we had (35' in total length) with a super crew cab f250 without any issue.

I've forgot to mention it in the many threads on here, but besides the bigger discount and ease of the RV Plus Card, I like that it doesn't stop at $75 or $80 like most other places do when I use my visa debit card. I wish there was a Flying J or Pilot near me that was convienent to use as I would just fuel up there all the time.

Okay, trying to understand all of this. I have my 3 Good Sam Cards sitting in front of me and an application for a Good Sam Rec Rewards Visa Card on another window of my laptop.

What would be nice is for the Good Sam Rec Reward Visa Card would cover the other 3 cards. I fear it won't.

So if I have the Good Sam Rec Reward Visa Card, do I have to carry my
Good Sam Deluxe Member Card
Good Sam Roadside Assistance Card
Good Sam Pilot/Flying J RV Plus Charge Card,(which has never worked worth a dam)

The way to market this, is to say you will save fuel economy by not having to carry so much plastic in your wallet. Someone think of the Nation and all we could save. ;-)

If I could get one card that did all of the above, plus give cash price for fuel at Pilot/Flying that would be a plan that was worthwhile.

We've been trying to push for them to be able to access all your GS accounts from one card for a while, but It hasn't happened yet. I do believe this is headed in the right direction though.

As far as the rv plus card goes. We've had ours since early summer and I have used it at least 8-10 times at about 4 or 5 different flying J's in the sc and nc area without an issue.

Every time I've tried to use the RV Plus, I get real dumb looks from the clerks. Never and I mean NEVER have I been successful at the pump.

The Visa Card looks like a good deal, with some good savings. Others' thoughts are always appreciated and even sometimes followed.
