Hi EVERYONE!

I have cleaned up several of the photos, from B-10, and added the only photo of the pet walk that was sent to us. I also redid the main page. Hope you like it? The photos can be downloaded but, unfortunately, one at a time. Here's the link:
http://www.military-rving.us/B-10_Rally/ClassB_Rally_2013.html

David, it has been suggested that I send these photos to you, and a copy of the Program. The StuffIt file is about 630MB. Can you manage that download?
Bob, this post should be in the B10 thread but I will respond here for future use of rally organizers.

Both the program and the photos illustrate the reason we went to b-rally.org as the official website for the rallies. It is paid for by the rally fees (it's not a very big cost) and it is "durable" meaning that it is not going to go away as long as the rallies continue and cover the small cost of the site and as long as there are rally participants that volunteer to maintain the website. Right now the two volunteers that do this are Lynne and myself. Plus, it serves as a primary information site for the rallies that keeps key information in a relatively easy format to access rather than have to search through threads on RV.net for rally info.

The website you created is great and well done but then when you changed it to put the rally photos online, the pointer to your original website is no longer valid. That means the program (or any other rally information that you put on your website) is no longer accessible for reference by future rally organizers as it would be if it was on b-rally.org. That may just be an oversight on your part, but it is not now accessible.

I was going to put your photos on b-rally.org but realized they can't me downloaded except one-by-one as you mentioned so I abandoned my effort. I don't know what our email system's limits are but send the compressed photo file (how do you decompress a Stuffit file) and we'll see if it will get through. Also send the program file.

Thanks again for all your work on the rally and now the photos. Don't take this as negative, it's a learning experience for us all. [emoticon]

On edit: I really like the participant photos in front of their Bs. That took quite a bit of effort on your part.

630 MB? Possible, but you have to know what you are doing at both ends. For instance, Gmail has a 25 MB limit if attaching from your computer. Your service provider might have a say as to what you can do as well. Sometimes burning a DVD and snail mailing might be a better solution. That 2.5 MB group picture I tried to send failed under three different wifi connections until I got home and used my own service.

I went checking past rallies and realized that my photos from B5 and B6 are history online as a link. They were on MobileMe, a service Apple ended last year. Links are not all that reliable. I've lost several over the years (AOL, .mac, iWeb, Photoshop, MobileMe, etc.) just because of business model changes by companies. I haven't even checked yet what Adobe's changes have affected in my online libraries. I'm paying for some photo services right now but there is no guarantee photo libraries would last if I quit paying. I also know that once you establish a link, as Asheguy mentioned, that if you mess with it by editing, subtracting, adding or moving files around you stand a chance of breaking the link.

Yes David, we have found a few campgrounds, in central Indiana that we are scrutinizing for the B-11 Rally nominations. Elkhart has been ruled out after talking with Sportsmobile. Actually, it is hard to say, at this point, what location we will nominate!

Unfortunately, chatter will not lead to a B11 rally. Willing individuals to find suitable locations and then nominate them are what is needed. Paul and Sherry are obviously working in their area. Hopefully, others will contribute.

Not to worry. If there are no nominations we will go to plan B or should I say plan O for Ohio. One way or the other, the Rallies will continue.

That should be enough incentive to get folks looking for new sites. [emoticon] Nothing against Ohio, the Ohio sites have been great and the sponsors dedicated to B-Rally success.

Previous rally locations:

Kentucky
Pennsylvania
Missouri
North Carolina
Ohio
Ohio
New York
Illinois
Ohio
Michigan

I must be in the minority....I like Ohio...centrally located for most B owners that attend the B rallys.

Paul and Sherry,

What's your definition of central Indiana? I ask because I previously mentioned the possible conflict with the Indy 500 in getting reservations the traditional weekend before Memorial Day weekend. Maybe it won't be so bad. Qualifications weekend is not nearly as popular as it used to be. Of course, it would be perfect timing for me since I'm going to the race. [emoticon]

Does central Indiana include the Brown County area or the Parke County area in your search?
