Persistence pays off.....You'll do fine and get a job, then enjoy what you went to school for.

Hope your interviews went well. My advise is to keep your mouth shut. Go and do the job to the best of your abilities. Keep the commentary in your pocket. Boy I wished I would have heeded my own advise. Invest in a deferred comp plan from day one (thanks Lt, Bowen). Don't let your state retirement be your only retirement. Police and fire retirement plans have their bonuses but we pay for them.

Never thought I'd say this, I'm back on the job in another state. Sure gives me a whole other prospective on working. I'm at a very small agency now, not much action, lots of community policing.

The only draw back is this job delayed our ten week Rv cross country trip by several years. We plan on full timing as soon as the kids are out of school and were done for good with working for a living. In three years I'll be vested. In seven years i can collect another state retirement.

Glad to read so many brothers and sisters in blue here, most retired and living the good life.

Be safe
