We are thinking of buying a used MH but there's one huge problem. In our 5er the TV cabinet is angled for a perfect view from the two recliners in the rear in front of the rear windows. All of the used MH's we have looked at have the TV over the windshield so we would have to sit on the couch and turn sideways to view it. Totally unacceptable! Can anyone suggest a MH with the TV back in the LR?

We are thinking about a diesel pusher, maybe between 2000 and 2005. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Check out Rexhall. On those years, the TV was behind the passenger seat, so it was obviously angled. It also came with a fireplace in the same area

not a diesel, but shows the layout. Nearly this same layout was available in a DP

Several Winnebagos of that period, like the '04 and '05 Vectra DPs and the Adventurer gassers have a central TV in a cabinet. Have to find the right floorplan.

Select where you want it and run some wires and turn the front area into storage. I did it on two motorhomes. On the second I used a 26 inch that I could set wherever I wanted it and stowed it next to the bed when we traveled. You don't have to have them fixed to the wall anymore 32 inch and lower are all easy to move and take up little space. We all have to adjust the way we deal with TV now that it is not a heavy tube. If everything else is good the tv location can be changed easily as can two recliners replace a couch.

take a look at pplmotorhomes.com. This is a consigmnent site that shows both pictures and floor plans for diesel and gas motorhomes. Maybe by looking thru all the floorplans, you'll find one you like.

I saw an installation of a 40" tv on a popup mechanism behind the opposing sofa. Not a cheap fix but it sure solves your problem. Most any coach will accept the lift mechanism although not good for more than two people. We like stretching out on the sofas with a couple of pillows for a back rest.

Take a look at Travel Supreme (Might start a discussion here but I think they started the trend) they have them in most of their units.

Here were some pic's on line;

In 1996 I had talked with design at Newmar, trying to get them to do put the TV mid station along with half a dozen other ideas, I got a total blow off -- then I purchased a National RV and forgot about it till I saw them in TS in a show in 2001 -- decided then that TS would be my next Coach and have not been disappointed.

Hope this is of some help,

You might want to check for motor homes that have what they call a buffet. These buffets are opposite the couch and the TV sits over it. Try the Winnebago models and enter buffet. The TV is definitely in the right spot in those models.
