Well you spoke with the seller and he is firm on his price so you have to ask yourself is this really the coach for me.
If it is then ask yourself if a new set of tires is really going to alter your lifestyle one way or the other, If it does, dont, but believe me 2-3 years down the road or months down the road it will be pretty much forgotten.
If you REALLY want this coach get it.
By the way, even new tires are rated only to 75 mph
Please dont drive that fast.

It never hurts to have a discussion about the tires since they are such an expensive item. Then both parties can either back out of the buy/sell if an agreement can't be made. "Never hurts to ask"!!!!

Wow a beutiful coach, and the reserve price is exactly what you would be paying for the one you are looking at now if including new tires. Plus its a newer coach.

Wait for him to give it to the daughter. She won't want the 'old thing' and will be willing to bargain with you. Funny, how your only other completion for the coach is free vs. your cash. He needs a reality check.
Help me understand why someone would say "I would rather give it away than reduce my price".

He's not interested in really selling ..Re the daughter comment. pay the price or move on since this was only a verbal ok I'll buy it , no handshake deal or contract. The days of a "mans word is his bond" are long gone. but you wont see ( right?) him or deal with him again so no loss.
Re the tires if you subscribe to the time theory it might need tires certainly the cracked one needs replaced. time replacement runs from 7 - 10 years depending on who is talking it appears .Most people run out of time before tread. I look at tires before ea trip and during the trip at each stop visually( tire bump) and replace when needed. Re What will the blowout results be? .. if its a rear tire "probably" a bang and rubber flying all over, possible damage to the wheel well ( probably covered by your insurance )followed by a road service call by a truck tire company. The other tire of the duals will most likely hold until you move off the road. Front tire? bang and you will have a handful keeping the rig upright and on the road!!Esp at 80 Hope the DW isn't getting coffee or heading to the restroom at the time. The company I work with (very large trucking co ) uses nothing but retreads on the drive wheels with Virtually no problems. however its illegal on the front tires and for a good reason. Front tire blowouts are never good!! So New tires with lots of tread in good shape.... RE 75-80 it seems you dont care about saving cash, as in fuel .. you'll be burning a LOT so on second thought maybe 3 grand for tires isn't a big deal after all
My post's are my opinion The advice, comments etc are free and worth what you paid

maybe you need a reality check? $40K for a 1996 clean 40ft Monaco executive is extremely low to any others I have have priced out
I can certainly see the owners point of not wanting to further reduce his asking price

I don't know what to think of this seller. I'm not sure what he is thinking with the daughter comment versus helping me get new tires and be safe. I have to wonder if he would leave those tires on there if he gave it to her. This guy also has more money than he knows what to do with. This guy also has more money than he knows what to do with. He's a farmer with over 400 acres, several shops/garages, another newer class A with matching trailer, just bought a new Cadillac CTS-V, chopper bike, a decked out shop with a big fancy bar, pool tables, etc. The list goes on and on. He's not hurting for money.
I may need a reality check on the speed. I seem to do that speed just fine with my current setup, and I get about 9 MPG's. The class A may only do about 7 at that speed, who knows.

At 80, probably 6 mpg..., right until you go off the road...

If he has owned this since new, I'd have to wonder about the rest of the maintenence. If he didn't see the need to put new tires on it, perhaps he let the rest of it slide too. Unless he can provide records for service, I think I'd walk from this one. There are too many bargains out there right now to take a chance on a maybe.
