I see there are two types of vent covers, one is soft and fits tight. The other has silver on one side to reflect heat from above. In an earlier rv we had we made some out of some building material, stiff foam with foil. What do you all use? Soft one locally are $15, silver on one side are $17. Not a big deal but one more detail. Thanks.

We use the soft, pillow type that is covered in something similar to sheep wool that fit up into the vent. Works fine in summer and winter, you can buy them pretty cheap at Camping World. Too lazy to look up the actual name of the item.....

Hi,
I have the foam pillows and have attached silver material which I cover with a tea towel Velcroed onto the pillow. That way the cover can be washed.

Thanks both of you. I went to a store today and looked at both varieties for sale. Not Camping World, we don't have that within 300 miles. Same stuff though. Then I went into the motor home and saw that the pillow type are too thick for our vent spaces. So we will do what we did before, build some out of what we have.
